Product Review – Firmoo.com

September 17, 2012

I apologize for the crapy pic.  My webcam is terrible and I didn't feel like waiting to get a better one. A few weeks ago, I was invited to try out Firmoo, an online prescription lens and glasses provider.  It is the world’s most popular glasses provider and they provide quality & fashionable eyewear at low prices.  They also have a program where first-timebuyers can get their glasses for free. After my last disastrous outingwith online eyewear providers, I was extremely leery about ordering anything from them…especially with the first-time buyer thing they have.  I’ve learned over the years that when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.  Plus, the online feedback about the site isn’t all that favorable.  But, I decided to give it a go. One of the first things I noticed was how easy the site was to navigate.  I easily pulled up the type of glasses I wanted and was able to quickly browse through them.  I even used the photo ap on the sidebar to get a ...

Product Review – CanvasPop

June 3, 2012

A few weeks ago, I received a $40 gift certificate towards getting a print from CanvasPop.  CanvasPop lets you create a canvas print using your own images.  They have virtually unlimited size options and several image editing effects. The creation process is pretty simple and straight forward.  You first pick where you are getting you’re image from (computer, Facebook, ect…), then pick the type of layout you.  You then have the option of choose either a standard size or a custom size that you define.  The next step is to choose your frame options.  Just rolled canvas with no frame is free, while varying depths and frames range from $30 to $60. After picking your edge options (all free), you will be able to upload your image.  You then have the option of adding an effect.  They have options like comic book, oil painting and vintage.  Black & White is free, while the others cost $10 to $30 extra.  If you are handy with Photoshop, or any other photo editing software, you can ...

Product Review – KnowPhone.com

May 7, 2012

A few weeks ago, I was invited to try out KnowPhone.com.  KnowPhone is a reverse lookup site that allows you to not only look up phone numbers, but find people, emails, and public & criminal records. I was giving a Platinum Pass membership so that I could check out the site and see how stuff works.  I get a lot of wrong number and telemarketer calls, so I’m pretty used to looking up numbers on the Internet.  I searched several of them on the site.  I was able to get the carrier name and general location, but I was unable to get actual reports.  When I tried to get the reports, it came up telling me I needed a membership to the site…which I already have.  I then searched them through Google and came up with companies, if they were telemarketers, and what they were trying to sell. The next thing I tried was looking up my own information.  Surprisingly, other than finding my parents address, there was nothing.  I didn’t find anything on my husband or other family members either.  ...

Product Review – Novica

April 10, 2012

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Mom Blog Society Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. A few weeks ago, I was asked to check out Novica.  Novica works in association with the National Geographic Society to bring you unique, handcrafted items from around the world.  They carry a huge selection of items that you will most likely not find anywhere else, including jewelry like Jade Necklaces , Amethyst Dangle Earrings & Wrap Bracelets.  You can also find handmade clothing like WoolShawls, Alpaca Wool Sweaters, Women's Cardigan Sweaters, & Women's Cardigan Sweaters. . . plus household items and much more. I was given a gift certificate to purchase anything that I wanted on the site.  At first, I figured that I wouldn’t be able to get much since many of the products offered on the site are somewhat expensive (I didn’t find anything under $14).  Plus, many businesses don’t ...
