A few weeks ago, I was asked to try out the Bridger Supply Outdoor Fanny Pack. This fanny pack has multiple pockets, dual water bottle holders, and a shoulder strap. It’s water resistant and is constructed to be lightweight & durable. I have a different fanny pack that I use on vacations, but I can never get enough stuff in it. This fanny pack isn’t overly large, but has tons of space. I can easily place my regular sized wallet in it and still have room for my phone, keys, sunglasses, and other things…and that’s just in the main compartment. It came in handy for the Girl Scout camp training class I had to take. I needed to carry a water bottle along with my regular items. I had more than enough room for everything. The only complaint that I can find with the fanny pack is that the waist band wouldn’t fit around me. I fall within the size requirements (20” to 42”), but it was tight. I ended up using the shoulder strap. It worked great, but depending on what you are ...

PINCHme Box – August 2015
Last week, I got this month's big PINCHme box. This month they added in treats & food for pets. Not shown in the pic is two DentaStix. I gave them to my dogs before I took the photo (long but funny story involving a very put out toad). They didn't last long, and the Cesar was a big hit too. So far, I think my favorite has been the Kura Smoothie mix. I mixed with some ice, frozen peaches, and milk. It was very good. The Scotch Brite Extreme Scrub sponge is also great. We've been using it to clean the grill grates (and keeps my husband from messing up my regular sponges). If you've never tried PINCHme before, check them out. You get free samples every month. You can sign up here. You'll get an email when the new samples for the month are ready. ...

Product Review – Zedity Premium Plugin
Last week, I was asked to try out and review the Zedity Plugin for Wordpress. Zedity is a premium plugin that allows you create blog posts with ease. You can quickly create numerous text effects, drop in documents & videos, and more. Once the plugin is installed, it will show a small icon in the editing bar. When you click it, you are taken to a popup interface that allows you to get to work on your effects. You can do your entire post in it, or small bits like the one able. All the work is saved when you are finished and is placed in the post as an object that you can then move around. Since it’s going in as an object, you will need to make sure that you adjust the size…which is very simple. All you do is drag the edges of the white grid space up or down to scale the size while you have the editor open. On the object above, I left a little space around the edges. You can also add in more fonts or adjust/remove the Zedity logo. Those options are in the settings, ...
Product Review – Vehicle Magnetic Sign from BannerBuzz
Last week, I was contacted by BannerBuzz.com and asked to try out and review one of their vehicle magnetic signs. All of the signs are customizable, and you can easily upload your own artwork or use their design tool on their website. I got to design at 12x6 sign. I ended up using Photoshop to design my sign since I had to recreate the blog banner into a larger version of the link button. I ended up splitting the sign; one half being for my design site, the other for this blog. There are a few file specifications you will need to know if you are uploading your own, like having the image between 600 – 1200 dpi. You can see the full requirements here. I didn’t go through their upload process, as the rep had me send my file to how directly with all my info. A few days later I had my new car sign. They shipped it in a sturdy shipping tube, which I can use to store it when I’m not using it. It came out looking great. Since it’s kind of narrow, I will be putting it on the back of my ...
Product Review – Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Compact Scout Knife
Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. Last week, I was sent a Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Compact Scout Knife from Swords of the East. Swords of the East is an online site that sells swords and knives. The Gerber was founded in 1939 and is based in Portland. They make a large variety of knives for many uses. The Compact Scout knife is about the length of my hand and very light. The blade is a ½ serrated high carbon stainless steel drop point blade (which is supposed to retain its edge), it locks back, and there is a nail nick for easy opening. The handle is grey plastic. It also comes with a fold out survival guide. I’m always looking for a good pocket knife, but I would be a little leery of having to depend on it in a survival situation. The blade is very sharp, but the handle is very flimsy. I would be worried about it breaking in my hand trying to cut branches for kindling or something else where you would be putting a lot of force on the handle. ...
