A few days ago, I decide to go back and start republishing some of my articles on SheSavvy. The first one I picked was An Interview with Author Sandra Brannan (2014). It was the second interview I had with her, and her 5th book was fixing to release. I wrote a new intro & closing, and submitted it. It was accepted about a day later, much to my surprise.. Today, the weekly newsletter came out and the article was featured as one of the 10 articles for the week. I'm so excited! I even took screen caps of the newsletter. Here is the link to the article: https://www.shesavvy.com/interview-author-sandra-brannan/ ...

Book Review – Sweetheart Deal by Linda Joffe Hull
Sweetheart Deal by Linda Joffe Hull is the third novel in the Mrs. Frugalicious Shopping Mystery series. Maddie Michaels and her family find themselves whisked off to a posh Mexican Resort for her reality tv show. Though the episode will focus on budget friendly destination weddings (her producer got a great deal on her wedding by agree to film there), they quickly find themselves in the middle of yet another murder mystery when the timeshare sales manager is found face down in one of the pools not too long after making a pass at Maddie. With thoughts of an Emmy-award winning episode on their mind, the products extend the trip and turn it into an investigation and have to qualms about involving the entire family. Was it really an accident or preplanned for the show? Maddie can’t help but begin to question the motives of everyone around her, from the producers to her all-but-ex husband, and fears that she is way on over her head. I haven’t read the first two books, so I was scared ...
Book Review – Courage and Other Demons by Jill Daugherty
Courage and Other Demons by Jill Daugherty is a young-adult urban fantasy, & is the first book in a series. Maggie O’Neill is just a regular girl living in the suburbs of Denver, until Simon Brady moves to town from Ireland. He’s nice, funny, and handsome. He excites her in a way no one ever has. He’s also a faery (something that Maggie has believed only exists in kids’ books) & his world brings danger not just to Maggie, but every human on Earth. As her world is turned upside down, Maggie has a choice to make: fight to save everyone or be killed. When I was first contacted about reviewing this book, I thought it was a very interesting premise and was eager to read the book. I was not disappointed. The story is very well written, flows well, and the characters are well rounded & developed well through the story. The fantasy is woven in perfectly & doesn’t feel forced. Maggie’s character is very believable to me and reacted the way anybody would when tossed into ...

Message From The Author: Elsa Takaoka On the first day of National Poetry Month in April of 2014, I set the goal of writing a poem a day. My little girls and I would sit at the kitchen table - my five year-old doodled and my one year-old scribbled while Mommy wrote. As I struggled to find inspiration, I would occasionally glance at my eldest girl, who has been a doodling machine since the age of two and will ...
