Solo: A Star Wars Story follows the journey of a young Han Solo as he begins to be a smuggler. Along the way he meets Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian, and flies the Millennium Falcon for the first time. It’s a story of adventure, love, and betrayal. There was a lot of hate for this movie, and I honestly don’t see why. It was a decent film. Granted, it wasn’t on the level of Rogue One…and backstory for Han really wasn’t needed. But it still didn’t deserve the amount of negativity it received. Donald Glover knocked it out of the park as Lando, and it was a huge treat to see Darth Maul. For me, the only issue was trying to figure out how old Han was through the movie. The plot covers about three years of his life, and it never actually says how old he was. I had to look it up while watching, and according to official Star Wars sites he is 19 at the beginning of the move and 22 after the time jump. Overall, it wasn’t a bad movie. It was entertaining and enjoyable. I really hope ...

TV Review – Arrow: The Complete Sixth Season on Blu-Ray
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in the Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own. Arrow: The Complete Sixth Season picks up after the explosion on Lian Yu at the end of Season 5. Oliver must now embrace a new role: being a father. Juggling this new responsibility along with being mayor and the Green Arrow will put Oliver to the test as enemies close in on all sides. Arrow season 6 is a wild ride with a lot going on. It’s a bit hard to keep up with at times, but worth watching the entire season in one go. There was a lot of Oliver/Felicity going, with the two of them finally getting married at the end of the Legends, Flash, and Supergirl cross over event (which was awesome, even though they killed off half of Firestorm). Personally, I’ve gotten a little sick of Olicity so I’m hoping that the darker tone of the upcoming season will tone that down a little. I was sad to see Paul Blackthorne leave at the end of the season, ...
Big Hero 6: The Series Review and Giveaway [ENDED]
Disney’s Big Hero 6: The Series – Back in Action takes place just before the end of the hit Big Hero 6, following Hiro Hamado as he rebuilds Baymax and works to protect San Fransokyo with his friends. This collection of episodes includes the first 7 episodes of the series and also 6 shorts featuring Baymax and the team. I loved Big Hero 6 and have been super excited to see the series when they announced it last year. The series is every bit as enjoyable as the movie and my daughter and I both love it. I think our favorite episode is Food Fight, where Aunt Cass gets addicted to competing in underground cooking competitions. It was a hilarious take on Iron Chef and there is even a nod to Gordon Ramsay. In a reversal of roles, Aunt Cass sneaks out at night to compete, with Hiro having to be the responsible one and go out to find her. Overall, the series is off to a great start and I can’t wait to watch more episodes. I really hope that they will make a sequel movie soon as well. Big ...
A Wrinkle In Time Review and Giveaway [ENDED]
Disney’s A Wrinkle In Time, based on the award winning novel by Madeleine L’Engle, follows a young girl named Meg who is trying to deal with the loss of her father. Her father disappeared under mysterious circumstances when she was younger, and is bullied by classmates because of this. Her gifted younger brother, Charles Wallace, is ostracized as well. After meeting Mrs. Watsit, Meg finds herself, her brother, and a friend whisked off to rescue her father. This movie had a lot of things going for, including stunning visuals and an A-list cast. However, they quickly became so distracting that the plot and the message got lost almost from the beginning. It did kind of follow the book for the most part. It’s been a long time since I read it. I will say that I was disappointed that they made Mrs. Watsit turn into a giant flying artichoke instead of a horse. Overall, I had a hard time sitting though it but my daughter did enjoy it for the most part. A Wrinkle In Time is available now ...
POTC: Dead Men Tell No Tales Review and Giveaway [ENDED]
Johnny Depp is back as the swashbuckling, rum loving Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tails. Jack is down on his luck with no boat or crew when he meets young Henry Turner. Henry is determined to find the Trident of Poseidon, the anchor of all sea curses, so that he can save his father Will (Orlando Bloom) from the Flying Dutchman. With the help of Carina, a female scientist who is the only one who can read the map to find the trident, they must outrun both Captain Barbossa and the undead Captain Salazar, who has unfinished business with Jack. The previous two entries in the Pirates series had left a lot to desired, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It had the feel and the energy of the first movie. There were some laggy parts, like the unexpected beach wedding, but overall it was neat to see a lot of the loose ends from the previous movies tied up and see a little bit of Jack’s history. One of the bright points of the movies has been seeing Jack ...
TV Review – The Flash Season 3
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this blog post. The opinions I share are my own. The Flash Season 3 starts off finding our favorite speedster Barry Allen in an alternate universe where he has the life he always wanted and Wally is the Flash. However, his actions at the end of season 2 have consequences that affect everyone he loves which becomes apparent when he returns to his universe. Who is the God of Speed, Savatar, and how will Team Flash defeat him? The Flash is one of my favorite shows, and the third season cemented it. Early one, I figured that Savatar would either be Barry or Wally and I wasn’t disappointed with the reveal. We also get to see Catlin turn into Killer Frost. And she does fly around using her powers. I also enjoyed H.R. this season and was sad to see that he would not be back next season. Other highlights of the season were the epic Flash/Arrow/Legends crossover, the Gorilla City episodes, a hilarious ...
