Guest Article – Accepting the Struggles of Motherhood
Although being a mother is one of the greatest and most fulfilling gifts I have received, I have come to realize that there are going to be many struggles ahead. These struggles that I talk about range from providing my children with the best possible education to dealing with the growing pains of life. Whether you have one child or eight children, being a mother is a completely different responsibility than ever before. Now, you put your children before yourself. Many people who don’t have children aren’t able to comprehend that you think and live differently since you have more that just yourself to worry about. That being said, mothers everywhere face daily struggles that are overlooked and not acknowledged. As stated before, I want to enable my children to have the best education possible. My daughter will be starting Kindergarten this fall and I’m still deciding what school system I want my children to be enrolled in. Although she is only starting Kindergarten, I am thinking of ...
Product Review – Linking Loops Mini Bead Maze
A few weeks ago, I unexpectedly received a package from Educational Toys Planet. It was a Linking Loops Mini Bead Maze for review. The bead maze is rated for 2 and over, and comes with an activity sheet. The maze itself consists of two wires firmly attached to a solid wood base: one twisted in an elaborate spiral and loops & the other in simple hills. It's relatively compact at 9 x 7.5 x 4.25 inches. Now, normally I would have the review written and posted within a week or so at the very latest. However, since it was a toy, I wanted to give Hannah a fair amount of time to play with it, in order put it 'through it's paces' so to speak. She can be quite rough with her toys at times, so I wanted to see how it would hold up to her treatment. I first took it out of the box, she wasn't really all the interested in it at first. She ran around with the box for a bit before she really took interest in the maze. Once she started playing with it, she had a blast with it. The ...

too hot to do much of anything…
It was way to hot to do much of anything today. The temp reached a high of 105 today...but my weather display said that the 'real feel' temp was 120! I can't wait till that heat dome breaks up. This is ridiculous. ...
What is the point of having a local Food Pantry if your going to hand the food out to the entire town?
At about 10 this morning, as I was getting ready to go and check the mailbox, so guy walked up with a grocery bag full of stuff. He said he was part of the Adopt-A-Block program from the First Assembly of God Church, shoved the bag at me and left...leaving me standing in the door quite befuddled. I watched as they went to every single house on the street handing out bags, everyone looking just as confused as I felt.I looked their webiste and found that not only do they run the Food Pantry for the town, but they are going to be roving around on the weekends handing out stuff for the foreseable future. It pisses me off to find out that the items that myself and countless others in town have donated are being wasted by handing it out to people who don't even need it. There are people here in town that really could use that food. I was going to take it back up there, but now I think I'm going to give it to the Forney Food Pantry instead since I know that it will go out to a family who ...
