A few days ago, I was sent a large box full of Boneless Skaters and accessory sets. Boneless are motorized toy skateboard with poseable skaters that can go forward or backward. They are charged up using a base that runs on three AA batteries, and the skaters themselves can be posed in various ways to affect the way they move and make jumps. The box I received included three skaters (Mia, Ryan, & Luca) with boards and chargers, the Big Air Mega Ramp, and Super Street Sk8Prk. The idea behind these are pretty neat and I’m surprised there hasn’t been something similar. The execution, however, is a little lacking. The Skaters & Boards The skater charges withing a few seconds, but you must hold them down onto the charger. Otherwise they’ll go flying off as the wheels start spinning as soon as there is a slight charge. Sliding the board forward allows the skater to move forward only. Sliding it back allows it to switch between forwards & backwards when it hits something. ...
Product Review – Laser X, Spybot, and All Pro Passer
A few days ago, I was sent a giant box full of some awesome toys to try out. I received a set of Laser X Long Range Blasters, Spybot Room Guardian, and an All Pro Passer. Since there are several things to review, I’m going to break this up into sections. Spybot Room Guardian The Room Guardian is a medium sized robotic toy that hangs on a wall or door with an included hanger. It has a built-in motion sensor that sets of an alarm when motion is detected. There are also little fin-like things that pop out as well. In order to turn the alarm off, you have to enter the user-set code using the four red button on the front. The code is set when you first turn the toy on and can be changed by turning the Guardian off & then back on again. It is fairly loud when it goes off & it even says “Intruder, Intruder!”. The hanger for this is a clear adhesive square with the hanging knob built in. It definitely doesn’t look like it will come off the wall/door after it is stuck in ...
Two Rivers Coffee Review and Giveaway
A few days ago, I was sent some holiday variety packs of coffee and hot cocoa pods from Two Rivers. These pods can be used with any K-cup machine & have a wide assortment of flavors. I just picked up a new Keurig machine, so I was very excited to try all of these out. We gone though about half of the boxes so far. The coffee is very good, and very strong. My daughter absolutely loves the cocoa. The dipped strawberry has been her favorite so far. I liked the Soho chocolate cocoa. The vanilla spice & donut shop are my favorite coffee flavors. We aren’t used to having K-cups, so we are still working out how many ounces of water to use with them. I’ve found the coffee is best with 12oz if you don’t want it as strong. For the cocoa, any more than 6oz and its very watery. Overall, these have all been very good and I will be ordering more in the future. You can order the variety packs directly from Two Rivers or from Amazon. The Giveaway Two Rivers wants to give one lucky reader a ...
Product Review – Bambusi Bamboo Corner Shower Bench
Last week, I was asked take a look at a bamboo corner shower bench from Bambusi. Featuring a sturdy design, the bench can sit in the shower, bathroom, or anywhere else you can use it. It’s ideal for storing bottles & other shower gear, and is durable enough to sit on. The bench comes in six pieces with and needs to be assembled. There are four legs and two shelves, the top which can be used as a seat and a bottom that can be used as storage. It included all of the needed screws and has an Allen wrench you can use to screw them into place. Assembly took me only a few minutes and the bench was surprisingly light given how heavy it looks in the pictures. It was a lot bigger than what I was expecting and didn’t fit in my tub. But it fit perfectly in the corner of the bathroom under the window. It looks great and really brings out a lot of the colors in both the shower curtain and the floor rug. Overall, this is an excellent corner bench that is sure to go with any bathroom décor. ...
Product Review – Desk Pad from Piboshi
Last week, I was asked to check out a leather desk pad from Piboshi. Measuring 33 inches by 13 inches, the pad goes under your laptop, keyboard or other devices to protect your desk from getting scratches. Its reversible, with both sides being anti-skid, and can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Like many, I’ve had to make the switch from commuting to the office 5 days a week to working remotely from home due to COVID. It’s been quite the change, though has saved me a ton in gas. The biggest victim in all of this is my poor kitchen table which has really taken a beating. My work laptop itself doesn’t leave scratches, but the cooling stand that it’s on does. I thought this mat might be the perfect to keep from gouging the table any worse. The mat arrived rolled up with a reusable band. It rolled out almost perfectly flat on the first go and didn’t need long to fully settle out, just a few minutes. It completely protects the top of my table. I can slide the laptop around now as ...
