Last week, I was sent a set of makueup brushes from Beauty Lally to try out and review. The set contains 9 brushes and the come in a designer case, and are available in two colors; brown or black. They are designed to feel silky and smooth, and can be used with powder, liquids, and creams. I received the brown brushes. My makeup regime is pretty simple most of the time. Most days I usually just use a spot concealer and pencil in my eyebrows. If I’m going out, I break out the larger kit with foundation, powder, blush & eye shadow. Sadly, that stuff doesn’t see the light of day as much as it used to. When I do use everything, I typically use the brushes that either come with the makeup (like the tiny eyeshadow thing) or a really cheap set of 2 brushes that I got years ago. I do have a really nice set of brushes, but I only use those for costume & SFX makeup. (You can see where my priorities lie…lol!) The Beauty Lally set is very nice, and feels like a super ...

Product Review – Support and Compression Knee Brace
A few days ago, I was sent a support and compression knee brace from Onager Sports. The brace is adjustable and will fit adults with a leg circumference between 11'' to 21' above the knee. It’s made of flexible neoprene that is moisture-wicking, has side lateral stabilizer, and won’t slip down your leg. I typically use a compression sleeve for my knee from time to time. I still get a lot of swelling even though it’s been several years since my surgery. The bad thing about the sleeves, aside from lack of support, is that if my knee is really swollen then it won’t go on easily & ends up being way too tight. I’ve been looking for an adjustable brace to use, so I was interested in checking this one out. I was a little hesitant about it due to it being neoprene. I expected it to be really hot and uncomfortable. However, it wasn’t too bad. It’s adjustable with very well made Velcro straps, so I didn’t have to worry about if my knee was swollen. If it starts getting too ...
Product Review – Camping Travel Fitness and Gym Towel
Last week, I was asked to try out the Camping Travel Fitness and Gym Towel by j2 Line. It comes in a set of two: one large towel (27"х51") (70cm x 130cm) good for your whole body and a small one (12"х27") (30cm х 70cm) for your face & hands. They are designed to absorb large amounts of water and dry fast. I was very interested in trying these out, especially for use at the gym. When they first arrived, I noticed right away how light both towels felt. I figured that the larger one would be the heavier one, but they were both about the same. Both came folded up in a mesh drawstring bag, which is very handy. I tested the large towel out at the pool with some friends. I was able to dry off almost completely in a few minutes. Surprisingly, the weight of the towel didn’t increase that much and was still fairly light. I hung it over the back of the chair and it dried in about 10 minutes or so. I then used it to dry off my daughter, and then wrapped her Puddle Jumper up to ...
Product Review – Urban Active Sports Running Belt
Last week, I received a Running Belt from Urban Active Sports for try out and review. It has multiple pockets for your keys, money, ID, and credit cards. It also has a pocket with a clear front that allows you to use your cell phone. It also comes with two free gifts: Urban Runner's Survival Guide Ebook and a set of elastic laces. My mom recently signed over her gym membership over to me and I hadn’t been yet at the time I received the running belt. I really needed something I could put my phone and stuff in that wasn’t super bulky and wouldn’t get in the way while I was using the machines. This belt totally fits the bill. I was able to put my phone in the very front pocket, and toss in my ID, some cash, and a debit card with plenty of room left over. I didn’t have anything to put in the small side pockets. The key pocket is more for sliding in a house key, so my car keys didn’t fit…but that was ok since the gym has key hooks. The belt fit easily around my waist and I ...
Product Review – Universal Brow Pencil
Last week, I was sent a Universal Brow Pencil from Billion Dollar Brows. The Universal Brow Pencil has been a top seller for over 10 years. The pencil is self-sharpening and has a spooly brush on the end. It has a smooth and natural finish, and easily blends in with your brows. My brows are nearly nonexistent in several spots, and going white in others. It really bothers me because I think my eyebrows look bad. I have used eyebrow pencils in the past & powders in the past, but you can tell that that’s what you used. It doesn’t look natural at all. I was interested in try this out to see if it was better. The first time I used it, I was sitting in the car waiting for my daughter to get out of school. This was the day I received it in the mail. I put it on kinda quick just to see what it looked like, and I was very surprised with the results. It really does look natural. It filled in everything nicely, and I was able to blend it in almost perfectly with the ...
Product Review – Teabook Premium Gift Set
Last week, I was asked to try out the Teabook Premium Gift Set. It comes with a glass tumbler and an assortment of 17 teas. The teas included are White, Green, Red, and Oolong, and a special premium tea. The tumbler is glass and holds up to 12 oz. You can leave the leaves in longer without the tea getting bitter. I love trying out new teas, so this was a treat. The pouches are pre-measured and have the perfect amount for the tumbler, and so far the one’s I’ve tried have all been very good. It’s very high quality. I’m looking forward to trying the special tea that they included. The lid has a strainer in it so that you don’t have to worry about accidentally getting the leaves in your mouth, and also has a seal so that the tea will not leak out. The tumbler itself is insulated, so the tea stays warm for a long time. Since it is glass, you have to be careful where you take it. You definitely don't want to drop it. Overall, it’s a great set that would make the perfect ...
