ProjeX Review and Giveaway
Last week, I was sent a ProjeX game to try out with my family and review. ProjeX is a portable projector that displays arcade-quality shooting targets of varying difficulty levels. This system operates on just two AA batteries and does not require a tv. Each projector comes with two blasters (which don’t need batteries) and three slides. The slides are color-coded for difficulty level: blue is easy & shows targets; red is medium & shows UFO; white is hard & shows ducks. Out of the box, all the system needs are batteries. The projector should be placed on a low table about 5 feet away from the wall. Turn off the lights, and you are good to go. It took us a few minutes to get it to turn on, and once it did the entire base lit up. There is a small front display that keeps score and the blasters can be placed in built-in holders for storage. We started out with the blue slide and slowly worked our way up. Each slide has 5 different games, so there are a lot of variations ...
Review – Stella: The Time Machine Journey
Yesterday, I was invited to a blogger event for Stella – The Time Machine Journey at PY1 in Arlington, TX. This unique laser light show is fun for the entire family, and is designed to get the audience participating. Move and dance with the music as you travel though time to see the birth of the universe and Planet Earth. I wasn't too sure what to expect when we first got there. We were treated to a wonderful brunch buffet and got to meet the show's created. There were a lot of little kids in attendance, including my own daughter, and they were all eager to see the show. The premise of the show is pretty simple. Stella is the AI/ship and depend on the audience participation to travel through time. There are three operators the interact with the crowd and dance. The pyramid doesn't look to big from the outside, but is pretty spacious inside. There are seats around the sides, but the bulk of the seating was on the floor around a meteor/rock. We sat on some little bean bag things and ...
Product Review – Elite Sports Medium Duffel Bag
Last week, Elite Sports sent me one of their Medium Duffel Bag (in pink!) to try out. Elite Sports carries a wide range gear for MMA, karate, and other sports. My daughter is a Brown belt in karate and she also does kickboxing, so she was super excited to get a new bag to lug all of her stuff around in. And trust me, for a 9 year old she has a lot of gear. This bag is super lightweight and very well made with breathable mesh. There are several pockets on the side and openings on the ends to put shoes or a change of clothes. I was able to put get all of her gear to fit, including gloves, helmet, shoes, nunchaku, and more. It’s a bit of a tight fit, but it’s the perfect size bag for her right now. Once she outgrows it, I’ll get one of the large ones. Overall, this is an excellent bag and my daughter really likes it. We are off to Nationals this weekend, so we will probably be cramming more into it. This bag is available for $49.99. Browse for more gear at the Elite Sports ...
Product Review – Electric Epilator from Finishing Touch
Several weeks back, I was sent an electric epilator by Finishing Touch to try out and review. This laser epilator is rechargeable and has two different razor heads that can be used. I have been on the hunt for a good, affordable electric razor for some time now. First of all, when I first saw this it was billed as a ‘laser razor’. I took that to mean that it was one of those that helped stop the hard from growing eventually. However, all this razor has is a light that detects when the razor comes into contact with skin…meaning it will only run when it’s on your skin. I tried really hard to find ways to get this epilator to work. The foil covered head can’t cut anything. I don’t know if it because the blades are dull or if it’s because the hair cannot get through the foil. I let my legs get pretty stubbly, which isn’t fun. Nothing. Nada. Zip. The buzzer blade/head does work, but its not enough to make this razor worth getting. Overall, this epilator was somewhat disappointing. ...
