ProjeX Review and Giveaway
Last week, I was sent a ProjeX game to try out with my family and review. ProjeX is a portable projector that displays arcade-quality shooting targets of varying difficulty levels. This system operates on just two AA batteries and does not require a tv. Each projector comes with two blasters (which don’t need batteries) and three slides. The slides are color-coded for difficulty level: blue is easy & shows targets; red is medium & shows UFO; white is hard & shows ducks. Out of the box, all the system needs are batteries. The projector should be placed on a low table about 5 feet away from the wall. Turn off the lights, and you are good to go. It took us a few minutes to get it to turn on, and once it did the entire base lit up. There is a small front display that keeps score and the blasters can be placed in built-in holders for storage. We started out with the blue slide and slowly worked our way up. Each slide has 5 different games, so there are a lot of variations ...
Product Review – Electric Epilator from Finishing Touch
Several weeks back, I was sent an electric epilator by Finishing Touch to try out and review. This laser epilator is rechargeable and has two different razor heads that can be used. I have been on the hunt for a good, affordable electric razor for some time now. First of all, when I first saw this it was billed as a ‘laser razor’. I took that to mean that it was one of those that helped stop the hard from growing eventually. However, all this razor has is a light that detects when the razor comes into contact with skin…meaning it will only run when it’s on your skin. I tried really hard to find ways to get this epilator to work. The foil covered head can’t cut anything. I don’t know if it because the blades are dull or if it’s because the hair cannot get through the foil. I let my legs get pretty stubbly, which isn’t fun. Nothing. Nada. Zip. The buzzer blade/head does work, but its not enough to make this razor worth getting. Overall, this epilator was somewhat disappointing. ...

Big Hero 6: The Series Review and Giveaway [ENDED]
Disney’s Big Hero 6: The Series – Back in Action takes place just before the end of the hit Big Hero 6, following Hiro Hamado as he rebuilds Baymax and works to protect San Fransokyo with his friends. This collection of episodes includes the first 7 episodes of the series and also 6 shorts featuring Baymax and the team. I loved Big Hero 6 and have been super excited to see the series when they announced it last year. The series is every bit as enjoyable as the movie and my daughter and I both love it. I think our favorite episode is Food Fight, where Aunt Cass gets addicted to competing in underground cooking competitions. It was a hilarious take on Iron Chef and there is even a nod to Gordon Ramsay. In a reversal of roles, Aunt Cass sneaks out at night to compete, with Hiro having to be the responsible one and go out to find her. Overall, the series is off to a great start and I can’t wait to watch more episodes. I really hope that they will make a sequel movie soon as well. Big ...
A Wrinkle In Time Review and Giveaway [ENDED]
Disney’s A Wrinkle In Time, based on the award winning novel by Madeleine L’Engle, follows a young girl named Meg who is trying to deal with the loss of her father. Her father disappeared under mysterious circumstances when she was younger, and is bullied by classmates because of this. Her gifted younger brother, Charles Wallace, is ostracized as well. After meeting Mrs. Watsit, Meg finds herself, her brother, and a friend whisked off to rescue her father. This movie had a lot of things going for, including stunning visuals and an A-list cast. However, they quickly became so distracting that the plot and the message got lost almost from the beginning. It did kind of follow the book for the most part. It’s been a long time since I read it. I will say that I was disappointed that they made Mrs. Watsit turn into a giant flying artichoke instead of a horse. Overall, I had a hard time sitting though it but my daughter did enjoy it for the most part. A Wrinkle In Time is available now ...
