Product Review – Hair Color Chalk

July 22, 2012

Last week I was sent a box of Hair Color Pastel Chalk.  The hair chalk will work on any color hair and is excellent for wanting to try out a color first before committing to dying.  The color will last about two days and easily wash out. I was excited to try this since I would be able to put it to good use come Halloween.  When I first opened the box, I noticed that there were no instructions & everything else was Chinese.  So I headed over to their website to look up how to do it.  You have to wet the section hair that you want to use them on, and then rub the chalk on.  Since I have brown hair, the site suggested that blue, pink and purple would be the best. While testing them out, I found that it worked best by getting my hair damp, then wetting the chalk stick itself.  I also found that if I tried brush my hair wigs before it dried it would comb the color out.  The yellow, white and black didn’t show up as well.  In fact, the while pretty much disappeared into my ...

blah…

July 20, 2012

My schedule has gotten completely thrown off again. They put Jason back overnight as fill in co-manager until the new guy gets there, so I haven’t been able to sleep much. I hate it when he’s not home at night. Anyway, I somehow ended up with 3 or 4 product reviews that are due up this week… severe lack of foresight/planning on my part...so I will be working on getting those up tomorrow afternoon. Also, there are only 4 more days until the heart rate monitor giveaway ends. There is already over 150 entries so you better enter soon. ...

The Wave Home Solution

July 18, 2012

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Wave Home Solutions for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.If your house has a crawl space or a basement, then you are already relatively familiar with the smell and mold that can accumulate due to poor ventilation.  Homes with excess moisture and not enough ventilation can become a breeding ground for mold, dust mites and other insects.   These odors, molds and other pollutants can thrive and accumulate there and then easily flow into living quarters upstairs, polluting the home.  This can lead to Sick Home Syndrome…which is characterized by respiratory ailments, asthma and headaches. The easiest way to deal with this problem is to attack the problem at it’s source: lack of ventilation.  Using dehumidifiers can be costly to buy & run, plus require a ton of maintenance.  Also, while they do dry out the air, they don’t ventilate… so you still have trapped toxins, pollutants and stale air in your basement/crawl space.  The best ...

Phyisical Therapy – Weeks 1, 2, & 3

July 15, 2012

I know that I said that I would be keeping up with this better, but I've just been way too out of it. Oh well...better late than never. About three weeks ago, I started my physical therapy for my knee. On the day that I started I had little to no movement with my knee. I could not bend it or get it straight while standing or sitting/laying down. The therapist took some measurements and told me we were going to have a lot to work on and that the more of it I can do at home, the better off I'll be...especially if I do end up having surgery. The majority of the exercises I'm doing are stretches aimed at strengthening both my inner thigh muscle and my hip. I’m also walking backwards on a treadmill, peddling on a stationary bike and lifting light weights with my leg. The goal is that once those muscles get strong again, they will pull my knee cap back into place and it won’t be scraping stuff off anymore. So far, we’ve had some success. After a hard three weeks, I can now walk ...
