A few weeks ago, Ozeri asked me to check out their Ozeri ProMax 500 lbs Digital Bath Scale. This scale has a tempered glass top and a digital face. It runs on 3 AAA batteries, and also included a tape measure and a fat caliper. I have reviewed several scales so far for Ozeri and all of them have been great. My favorite has been the Weightmaster II Bath Scale, which I no longer have. However, this new one is every bit as good even though it doesn’t have a lot of the same features. Now, this scale does have some weight to it so be careful not to drop it on your foot. I speak from experience. I dropped it white trying to get it out of the box. It’s not pleasant and I do not wish that sort of embarrassment (or pain) one anyone. The scale itself is pretty simple. Stand on it and get your weight in a few seconds…whether you are ready for it or not. The display screen is backlit, making the (dreaded) numbers that much clearer to read. The glass can support up to 500 lbs. and ...
Stay Safe While Boating
If you are a boat owner, you most likely purchased it in order to have some relaxing times on the water with your friends and family. One of the keys to being able to relax is staying safe. This, or course, begins with safe boating practices, but it also involves making sure you have the right equipment on board as well. Companies like Mimi Marine can help you choose the right boat safety equipment so your fun doesn’t turn into fear. In order to being a good practice, having the right stuff will keep you legal also. You should check the regulatory requirements for your state in addition to the basic equipment that you should have regardless of what the law says. Personal flotation devices are important for every person on board or being towed, whether they are riding on a tube or are skiing. You need to take into account the ages of the people on board as well. If you have children, you will need to make sure these devices are sized appropriately. You can’t assume that it is not ...
Ideas for Home Activities
Let's face it, being a stay-at-home mom can be tough. When you're not taking care of any children running around the house, you're focusing on making them food, or cleaning, or anything else that ends up coming up throughout the course of the day. While that can certainly be fulfilling on its own, sometimes it's okay to want to chase after something new. With that in mind, here are just a couple of ideas for stay-at-home moms to pursue while still looking after a few little ones. Pursuing Research It may not sound exciting on its own, but there are plenty of opportunities for people to conduct research while at home. If you're someone who's interested in a particularly niche topic, there are plenty of journals that can be delivered to your home or accessed online. Dentistry journals, for example, can be accessed through the JIACD and keep readers up to date on all of the newest advances in modern dentistry. On its own that may not sound exciting, but it's also useful to keep in mind ...
Product Review – LITEBOX Pro-240
Two weeks ago, I was asked to try out the LITEBOX Pro-240 light box kit. The light box kit comes with everything you need to take profession grad photos of objects. It includes two CRI 90+ LED dimmable light bars, 4 background sweeps, a tripod for a cell phone, and a carry case. The light box itself is 24x24x24 inches. I do a lot of stock photography for my covers, and have cobbled together an assortment of light boxes of the years...some of them decent and most of them not. I was extremely excited about getting the opportunity to review this. My hope was that I can eventually start selling better quality stock images. There is a lot to this box, so I’m going to do this review a little differently and do bullet points. It’s the only way I can fully cover this item. Let’s start with the pros, which there are a lot of: LED Light bars – these two light bars give you a full range of light, from regular table lamp brightness (2700K) to full spectrum (5000K) they are ...
Product Review – Tea & Fruit Infusion Pitcher
Last week, I was asked to test out and review the Tea & Fruit Infusion Pitcher from Miami Wata. The pitcher holds 2.1 quarts of water and comes with a plastic fruit infusion attachment, a metal teat infuser basket attachment, and a bonus ice ball maker. I have never attempted to make fruit infusion water before, and in fact have never tried any either. I ended up having to get some frozen fruit because the stores haven’t have much fresh stuff lately…which is where I think the infusion water went wrong. I put the fruit in the infuser and then screwed it to the underside of the lid. After filling the pitcher, I let it sit overnight. The next day everyone decided to try it while I was at work. No one liked it at all and even adding sugar to it didn’t help. I let it sit another day before trying it again. It still didn't taste good. I’ve refilled it since with lemons for lemon water to see how that does, but I think we will be getting more use out of it as a tea ...
