A while back, a saw a recipe for a Chocolate Eclair Cake in the Mr. Food Newsletter. The picture looked absolutely mouthwatering, so I decided to check it out. The recipe is quick and easy to make, only has a few ingredients and you don't have to bake it. All you need is some french vanilla pudding, cool whip, milk, chocolate frosting and graham crackers. It took me about 10 minutes to mix the filling (milk, pudding, cool whip) and layer it in a 9x13 baking dish with the graham crackers. Then it took about 5 minutes to get the frosting spread. It turned out wonderful! I've made it twice already, and plan on making it again for our Christmas Eve get-together with Jason's side of the family.I'm not allowed to post the recipe directly here, so I'll just post the link to it: http://www.mrfood.com/Cakes/Chocolate-Eclair-Cake-by-Mr-Food/ct/1 ...

Recipe – Bacon Appetizer Crescents
Yesterday I tried out a new recipe that my mom found. It's Bacon Appetizer Crescents found on the Kraft website: http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/bacon-appetizer-crescents-57213.aspxThey tasted great and everyone in my Writer's Group liked them. The only change I made to the recipe was using scallions instead of regular onions. ...
Recipe – Jasmine’s Brussels Sprouts
Jason found this recipe a few weeks ago and we love it. I use frozen Brussels sprouts instead of fresh, mostly because the store doesn't have them all the time, and I use regular bacon instead of panchetta. The last time I fixed it, I also added in capers.allrecipes.com - Jasmine's Brussels Sprouts ...
experiments in cooking – onigiri
Last night I decided to try my had at making onigiri, rice balls, to go with dinner last night. I found a good sounding recipe on Recepiezaar. Now I understand why they sell the little triangle molds. It's really hard to mold them if your not familiar with making them. My hands kept drying up, causing the rice to stick to me. My rice balls ended up looking more like eggs, but they came out really good. I caught Jason getting up in the middle of the night to eat some more of them, so I know he liked them.If you want to give it a try, here's the recipe: http://www.recipezaar.com/recipe/Onigiri-rice-Balls-119231 ...
