Last week, I was sent a sample of Total Nutrition by Immortal Herbs. Total Nutrition is a powder supplement that you can mix into drinks and smoothies. It contains antioxidants, amino acids, enzymes, nutrients, vitamins, and phytonutrients….all of which with give you an energy boots and is very healthy for you. You can use it as a meal replacement for either breakfast or lunch, or have it as a snack/drink between lunch & dinner. The powder itself is green, and can make your drink green as well. It’s not the most appetizing, but you can easily remedy that by mixing different stuff in with it. When I mixed up my smoothie, I used a mango juice base and added in the following frozen fruit: banana slices, pineapple chunks & mixed berries. The mixed berries gave the smoothie a purple color, so I didn’t have to worry about the green. Add in 1 tablespoon of the powder and your good to go. With many nutrition powders, you can sometimes taste them in the drink. But with ...

Product Review — Qoilezz
I was recently asked to check out Qoilezz, a stretchy plastic coil that you can hook to just about anything. They can be used for any number of things, including wine stem charms, pencil/pen identifiers & more. I picked out a few design packs. I really wanted to put them in my daughter’s hair for decoration. Now, I’m not the best when it comes to messing with hair…& I purposely keep my hair very short for that reason. My daughter picked out one that she wanted. After pulling her hair back into a ponytail, I tried to weave it in. It didn’t go well at all. All I managed to do was knot her hair up. I was able to use it in place of a hair tie to hold up her pony tail, but that was about the best I could manage. I’ve also found a lot of other fun uses for them. My daughter has been putting them on her crayons, and I’ve put a few on my different USB cords so that I could keep track of which one goes to what device. I also put a few on my shoe laces. The qoilezz are soft and ...
Product Review – MIRA Digital Kitchen Scale
Last week, I was sent a MIRA Digital Kitchen Scale to test out. The scale has a large digital face on it, comes with a stainless steel bowl, & holds up to 11 lbs. I have reviewed a digital scale in the past, and while it is good I have noticed with further use that it can be very hard to read the numbers on it due to the placement of the screen. With this scale, the face is large and set out from where the bowl sites…making it super easy to read. Plus, the numbers are large so you don’t have to squint at them. It has a tare function and you can easily switch between grams, ounces, pounds & milliliters, with is very handy. It also has a backlight which is really bright. Even better, the scale comes with a full warranty. I’ve already used it a great deal. I really like the bowl, since I can use it for other stuff. I’ve had to get after my husband on several occasions for trying to use it to take food out to the dogs in (I lose more bowls that way). Now, I would be ...
Peelstar Review & Giveaway [ENDED]
I was recently asked to try out PeelStar. PeelStar lets you create custom decals and magnets of your children’s sports jerseys. The decals can be placed in school lockers or bedrooms, & the magnets can go on cars or anything else metal. My daughter is still a little young to play sports yet, but she is a huge football fan. We are proud members of the Raven’s Nation, so I decided to make her a purple jersey with her name one it. The site takes you right into the creator app and you can choose between several different sports (football, baseball, soccer, ect...). You are able to select colors, fonts, and add custom text. I used the general color scheme of the team, but tried to make it look different so as not to infringe on copyright. The jersey itself is purple with black around the sleeves and collar. The lettering (her name) and number (1) are white. You also get a big strip at the bottom with the team name, so I put ‘Ravens’ I white text with a black outline. I got it ...
Product Review – Signazon.com
About three weeks ago, I was invited to try out Signazon.com. Signazon is based in Dallas and lets you design your own custom banners, signs, car magnets & more. You can use customizable templates or use their builder to create your own. I had the option of creating a 2’ x 4’ foot vinyl banner. Many of you may know that aside from writing this blog, I also do graphic design & photography. I’ve designed several book covers for authors and I also create & sell stock images. I jumped at the chance of doing a banner because I have been pricing them for a while to have at FenCon. FenCon is a sci-fi convention held in Dallas & frequented by a lot of local and national authors. I’m sharing a table with a friend of mine, T. M. Simmons, and wanted to have something to stand out and bring people over. They have a large number of templates available that you can edit and add in your own images. I choose to go with the blank template. I uploaded my logo then added a few lines ...
Book Review – Noah’s Rainy Day by Sandra Brannan
Noah’s Rainy Day by Sandra Brannan is the 4th book on the Liv Bergen mystery series. Liv has completed training at Quantico and is now an FBI Agent. She is immediately tossed into a case with Streeter Pierce, her lover Jack Linwood, and her bloodhound Beulah. She finds herself in a race against time to find a 5-year-old who went missing from Denver International Airport. Meanwhile her nephew Noah Hogarty, who has severe cerebral palsy, is convinced that there is something going in with the quiet new girl across the street. When no clear way to communicate his suspicions, he decides to take matters into his own hands…because that’s what his aunt would do. I am always excited to read Mrs. Brannan’s books, and this definitely didn’t disappoint. There is a lot of action and mystery throughout the story and, as always, it keeps you literally glued to the story. I couldn’t put it down. There was a bit of a change in writing style for this one. Normally, only Liv is presented in ...
