A few weeks back, I was invited to try out CanvasPop. CavansPop let you create canvas prints with your photos. They have a ton of canvas sizes and options, and can even retouch your images for you. I got to design a 16x24 canvas. The process is very easy. You simply upload your image and then select your options. Sizes will be based on what is a good option for the size & resolution of the image you are using. I actually used a photo I took on my cell phone of my daughter. I cleaned it up and adjusted the size & resolution on my computer so that it would fit a larger canvas. I was a little worried that it might look blurry once it was printed. To finish it up, I opted for the black boarder around the edges. About a week or so later, my canvas arrived. I was really shocked at how great it looked. You wouldn’t know it was a cell phone image. It looks like I took it will my regular camera. The best thing about the canvas is that it comes with the hanging hardware already ...

Product Review – Wrapy Baby Wrap
A few weeks ago, I was asked to check out the Wrapy Baby Wrap. The Wrapy is a cloth wrap, made of 95% cotton and 5% spandex. It will safely hold babies up to 35 lbs. The fabric is extra wide and is very comfortable. It is machine washable and dryer safe. I tried a sling wrap when my daughter was little, but didn’t like it very much. In the last few years I have seen many different brands of wraps come out, but since my daughter is too old for them I’ve never been able to try them out. So when Wrapy contacted me about the review, I asked my friend when has a 6 month old if she wanted to try it out. She agreed. She’s used wraps for both of her children, so she’s experienced in using them. When the wrap arrived, I first noticed how soft and stretchable it was. It came in a drawstring bag with instructions on how to use the wrap. My friend was currently using a wrap from another company, but found it to be very uncomfortable due to how thick the fabric was. She commented on of ...
Product Review – Bridger Fanny Pack
A few weeks ago, I was asked to try out the Bridger Supply Outdoor Fanny Pack. This fanny pack has multiple pockets, dual water bottle holders, and a shoulder strap. It’s water resistant and is constructed to be lightweight & durable. I have a different fanny pack that I use on vacations, but I can never get enough stuff in it. This fanny pack isn’t overly large, but has tons of space. I can easily place my regular sized wallet in it and still have room for my phone, keys, sunglasses, and other things…and that’s just in the main compartment. It came in handy for the Girl Scout camp training class I had to take. I needed to carry a water bottle along with my regular items. I had more than enough room for everything. The only complaint that I can find with the fanny pack is that the waist band wouldn’t fit around me. I fall within the size requirements (20” to 42”), but it was tight. I ended up using the shoulder strap. It worked great, but depending on what you are ...
Book Review – The Rampart Guards
The Rampart Guards is the debut urban fantasy series for young adults by Wendy Terrien. After the disappearance of his mother, Jason and his family move to a small town. After being attacked by strange flying creatures, he leans a big secret about his family: they protect the world from things like kappa, skyfish, and other cryptozoological creatures. He quickly finds himself in a life and death struggle as he’s thrown headlong in the middle of a brewing war. Not knowing who to trust and facing betrayal from an unexpected source, Jason must ultimately decide who lives and who dies. This is going to have a few spoilers. It was unavoidable, so I’ll notate where they start so you can skip over them. I thought that the story was very good. The characters were well rounded and likable. It was a little slow getting started, but picked up quickly. I wasn’t able to put it down, and read it in about a day and a half. I think that only thing I found that needed some work was the timeline. ...
Product Review – Miss Landson Detangling Brush
A few weeks back, I was asked to try out the Miss Landson Detangling Brush. The brush is designed to gently detangle hair and message your scalp to promote hair growth. It works on short or long hair, and wet or dry hair. My hair is pretty short, so I don’t have to worry too much about knots and tangles in my hair. My daughter’s, however, is long and usually ends up looking like a rats nest by the time she comes home from school. A lot of the kids mess with her pony tail during the day, leaving it half out of the hair tie and a knotted mess. She hates having her hair brush because it pulls and tugs no matter how much detangler spray I put in it. I was interested in seeing it this brunch would work and if it would make getting her hair done easier. It works, but only to a point. In the mornings when her hair isn’t too bad, the brush has to issues getting through it and works very well. After school is another issue. It doesn’t work nearly as well. It tugs a lot, and she really ...
Product Review – Tibetan Meditation Bowl
A few weeks ago, I was asked to try out a Tibetan Meditation Bowl from Geshe’s Dharma. The bowl is hand painted and comes with a leather cushion & wooden mallet. It has a diameter of 4 inches and is perfect for beginners. I’ve seen larger versions of these in one of the stores at the mall, and have always wanted one. This one is beautifully decorated and has gotten a lot of comments since I set it out on my mantel. It’s fairly simple to use. I leave mine sitting on the cushion and either hold it on my fingertips or set it down on something. You think strike the edge of the bowl with the mallet. You will get a deep ringing sound. You can then gently run the mallet around the rim to increase the tone and draw it out. It’s took me a bit to get it down. You can check out my video review below to see 7 hear how it sounds: I enjoy spending a few minutes a day using it. I find it very relaxing & soothing. Overall, I really like it. It would make a great gift. In fact, it ...
