A few weeks ago, I was asked to try out the All Natural Shoe Odor Eliminator from Amare Terra. It’s made from all natural ingredients & has a lemon mint scent. The company has a 100% satisfaction guarantee or you’ll get your money back. They also donate 9% of each purchase to build clean water wells. I’ll admit that my tennis shoes stink, especially after running around in them all day in the Texas heat. I used to use odor fighting powder & insoles, but gave up in them long ago because they never really worked. I was curious about the spray to see if it worked, but I didn’t really expect it to. However, I was pretty surprised at the results. I just got a new pair of shoes, so I decided to test the spray out on my old pair. I used two sprays in each shoe: one aimed down into the toe end & one aimed at the heal end. You can smell the lemon and mint right away, and it’s very pleasant while not being overpowering. It definitely covered the smell, but I did notice that ...

Product Review – Mosquito Repellent Bracelet
Last week, I was asked to try out and review that Mosquito Repellent Bracelet (+ 2x Refill) from CASELAST. The fabric bracelet can be adjusted to fit all sizes, and has a mesh pouch/pocket that holds a chip with mosquito repellant. The chip is DEET-FREE & uses citronella, lavender, peppermint and geranium…making it safe for all ages. The chips last for 15 days once opened. After 4 years of little to no rain, we’ve been getting torrential rain to the point that there is widespread flooding from here all the way down to Houston. All the rain has caused the local mosquito population to explode. And my daughter, unfortunately, is a mosquito magnet. We’ve tried all sorts of natural replant and never had much success with them. This year she’s finally old enough to use spay with DEET, but it can’t be left on her skin for long periods of time. I’ve been trying to find something that is safe for her to wear all the time, so I was interested in trying this out. The bracelet comes with ...
Product Review – Rid Tech Ultrasonic Pest Repeller
A few weeks ago, I was sent a Rid Tech Ultrasonic Pest Repeller to try out and review. The repeller uses ultrasonic sound waves to repel pests like mice, rats, roaches, and more. The sound waves are at a low frequency so you or your pets can’t hear it, and it's a good alternative to using chemicals & sprays. We have a hard time with bugs and other pests getting in, especially at this time of year. It seems like we are almost always spraying the baseboards, and we usually have to fog bomb the house at least once during the summer. We’ve considered getting sonic devices (or squeakers, as my dad calls them) in the past, but didn’t want to put up with the sound all the time. This is the first that I’ve seen that doesn’t make an audible sound, so it sounded like a great solution. One repeller will cover a normal sized room. I put the repeller in the dining room, since that is where the most bugs seem to get in from. A little green light comes on at the bottom, and it really ...
Product Review – Woolzies Dryer Balls
A few months back, I was sent a box of XL Woolzies Dryer Balls. Woolzies are large wool balls that replace the use of dryer sheets. They eliminate static, wrinkles and help your clothing/towels/sheets dry faster. They are also a green product, and one ball can last a thousand loads. Normally my product testing turnaround time on items like this is a lot faster and doesn’t span several months. However, I ran into a bit of an issue with this one. I kept getting inconstant results depending on what it was I was drying. So, over the course of a few months, I kept track of what loads were in the dryer and noted several factors: dry time, wrinkles & static. Now, my laundry loads vary. I wash my and my daughter’s clothes together, and, occasionally, some of my husband’s white stuff will mix in. My husband’s work clothes are a separate load washed with Woolite Dark (great stuff by the way). Towels just get tossed in by themselves, as well as sheets, and jeans are also washed ...
Natural House Review & Giveaway [ENDED]
A few weeks ago, I was sent a 30 day supply of Natural House Cleaning Products. The products were Trashy, Flushy, and Sinky. Trashy is a spray that eliminates odor from your trash can. Flushy is a toilet cleaner, while Sinky cleans your sink drain and garbage disposal (if you have one). Natural House products utilize non-toxic, probiotic cleaning agents that are strong enough for commercial clean-up, yet safe and gentle for all of the members of your home. The item I was most eager to try was Trashy. My trash can in the kitchen reeks almost all the time, primarily due to the large amount of used diapers in it. With Trashy, all I had to do was spray the inside of the trash can before putting the bag in. The residual smell was gone almost instantly. In fact, there were a few times that I even sprayed the trash itself and the results were the same. The odor was eliminated and didn’t come back for several days. I found that Flushy also works just as well. Our bathroom toilet ...
