I just don't know what is going on with me. I've been so blah lately and just can't seem to get anything done, with the exception of today. I'm attributing my frenzy of cleaning to the nice weather (it's 75....in January!) and that my writer's group is having a meeting over here on Sunday. I think I'm going to see if Trana will bring Barney with her so that I will have an excuse to leave the TV on...so I can catch the Ravens game.I haven't seen much of Jason due to all the crap he has going on at work. He still has three weeks of vacation time he has to take before March (for last year). If he doens't take them, then he'll just have lost them. He'll get three more weeks after March for the current year, but with the way everything seems to be going, he won't get to take any of them. It would be nice if we could get away for a few night, either just the two of us or as a family. We really need that time together. Mom keeps saying that she's going to come over and hang out or go ...
family life
Busy few days
The past few days have been way too busy! I spent most of Monday curled up in bed sick. I wasn't feeling much better Tuesday when I had to get up at 5:30 in the morning to get to the appointment I had with the hand specialist. We had a hard time trying to find the place, and ended up driving past it at least 3 times before we realized it. The hand guy was nice, and it wasn't a long visit. After examining my hand, he said that it looks like everything is centered in the main thumb joint and then radiates out from there. The joint was inflamed all the way around, and he wasn't sure what was causing it. He said that if you do something to tear the ligament, then it usually only hurts on that one side. He gave me a steroid shot and said that it should clear everything out, and that the pain shouldn't come back. If it does, then we will go from there. The shot wasn't pleasant. He had to pull forward on my thumb while I pulled back so that it would open up the joint enough to get the ...
Hannah can count to ten!
Hannah has been dazzling us with her counting skills that past few days. She started counting to ten out of nowhere two nights ago. She's also been forming all sorts of sentences, naming stuff around the house, and rattling off colors like there's no tomorrow. We are so excited. She's also been drawing shapes on her Aquadoodle, as well as trying to trace around her hand. ...
It’s my birthday today
And what an uneventful birthday it is! But, I'm just fine with that considering how Christmas went. It's nice to have a quiet day to relax a bit and put drama & everything else behind you.So, I'm 28 today. I don't feel "old", but I do feel a bit wore out. I told mom this morning that my body feels like that of of 70 year old sometimes. All aches, pains and drama aside, it's been a pretty good year. And hopefully, this coming year will be good too. ...
Christmas stuff . . . bleh
Yesterday was a long, long day. Between Hannah getting sick and the ridiculous family drama, I'm glad the day is over & done with. Presents and all were good. Hannah got all sorts of stuff, including a Pillow Pet and a kitchen set. I got a bunch of Japanese candy, taro, a Slush Mug, LOTR BluRay extended edition, and all sorts of other neat stuff. Jason is hard to shop for since he has no hobbies anymore due to the hours he works, so I got him some work shirts, a Charlie Sheen dress shirt (like what he used to wear on Two and a Half Men), and a big box of various soy sauces. My parents came over and we opened more presents, then had breakfast. They headed home after eating, but came back later for dinner. Mom had picked up a pork loin, that was the size of a small horse, and I cooked it in my cast iron pot with apple/cranberry dressing. After dinner, we tried to get Hannah to got to bed . . . a failed somewhat. We all then watched the Doctor Who Christmas Special and played a ...
Unproductive few days
I haven't got much done the last few days. I've had no energy to speak of and haven't felt like doing much of anything. I don't know if my lack of sleep is catching up with me or not. Jason is off today, but is trying to do a marathon cleaning of the shed. His parents brought over a Barbie Jeep Power Wheel for Hannah, who is no where near old enough to use it yet. They also got her a table and chair set, which, again, is too big for her. I think we're going to store the table and chairs in the office, and put the Jeep in the shed once there is room. We are also trying to consolidate tote boxes down so that we can get some of her older toys out there. Plus, we've still got her infant car seat, which we are reluctant to get rid of in case we decide to have another baby, and several other larger items to take out as well.Anyway, the UGLee Pen giveaway is over, and I'll be notifying the winner in a little bit. I've also got another Christmas giveaway to post, and some product ...
