The Sinus Infection That Would Not DIE!!
So...it has been ongoing sinus infection madness over here. My daughter is getting hit worst of all. There is something in her school that is aggravating her sinuses and she been almost constantly sick since right after school started. She's been sick all weekend and I'm probably going to keep her home tomorrow. I couldn't get her in to she her doctor until Tuesday. It's looking like we are going to have to take her to a specialist to get something prescribed to her in order to keep it under control. On top of that, I'm sick...sinuses too. My husband is just getting over his acting up, but now he has to go to another store to help out through Christmas. The store is over an hour away and he's probably going to have to stay in a hotel during the work week. He's not overlay happy about it, but he's hoping that he'll get a promotion out of it. ...
The Post Vacation Update
This past week has been super hectic, and I am so far behind on housework and yard work that I can't even joke about it. I wasn't even home a full day before our AC went out, again. This time it was the fan motor that went. I took a day to get the part in, so we had to say at my parents house. My husband was able to get it the new motor in quickly, but it still took a better part of the day for the house to cool off...being that it's been hitting near/over 100 here. While we waited, we discovered a new ramen restaurant in Dallas called Wabi House. I'm going to post a review for them later because they totally deserve it. It was some of the best food we've had out in a good while, plus the waiter was probably the best we've ever had. It was excellent. The rest of the week has been spent play catch up with everything, and it feels like I've barely made a dent. My husband should be off for two days starting tomorrow, so we are going to concentrate more on getting the ceiling ...
Vacation Days
Well, today was out last day at the beach. Not only did my grandmother come down again, but my aunt & uncle also came down a well and got to meet my daughter for the first time. I'm be writing up at last a three part trip report in the come week, but it will probably take me a few days to get caught up on everything. I didn't get a chance to get much done work-wise this week. ...
Day Trip DFW – Ham Orchard (Terrell, TX)
My husband’s work schedule has loosened up a little, so he’s been able to actually get his days off more often than not lately. We don’t get to do a lot as a family usually and since this is the last summer before our daughter starts school, we wanted to take advantage of being able to get away and do a little something…even if it’s just for a day. The Dallas/Fort Worth area has tons of activities and attractions to keep everyone busy for the summer or any other time of the year. While you may be familiar with places like Six Flags, The Stockyards, or the JFK Memorial Plaza, there are a lot of other smaller places that many people overlook or don’t know about. Thus, Day Trip DFW was conceived. Each Day Trip DFW article will feature a different place (or places) that are in the DFW area, or within easy driving distance. First up is a place that isn’t even a 10-minute drive for me, and we visit it multiple times during the summer: Ham Orchard. Ham Orchard is a 100-acre peach farm started ...
Rain, Rain, GO AWAY!!!!
It has rained almost every day this month. Why won't it stop?!?!?!? We've been lucky to dodge some of the worse, more severe storms...though my husband had a very close call with a tornado last week while at work. One came about 5 to 10 minutes from hitting his store. He said everyone was freaking out and they had to evacuate the customers and lock the store down for over two hours. The worst day so far this week was Monday. In less than 15 minutes, my yard was partially underwater & the street was so flooded that you could not see the top of the curb or drive down it without stalling. It's crazy. I've given up attempting to plant flowers & veggies. At this rate, I should just start a rice patty. Today wasn't so bad. There was heavy rain overnight, and a light shower a little while ago. And it was sunny & hot/muggy this afternoon. The forecast says to expect rain through he weekend. Joy (sarcasm). ...
