A few weeks back, I was sent a sample set of 6 randomly picked teas from Enjoying Teas. Enjoying tea carries a huge selection of teas, as well as a tea sets, pots, and accessories. The set I was sent was all loose leaf, and included the following: Keemun Black Tea (Qihong), Earl Grey Black tea, Roasted Mate Chai, Vanilla Rooibos, Jasmine Green Tea, and Organic Slimming Oolong Tea. Each of the teas comes in a small square tin and each is labeled (full name & item number). There was also a card included that had that steeping time and how much tea to use for a cup. Out of all the teas, I liked the Organic Slimming Oolong the best. The leaves were bulky & wadded up, so you could really hear them rattling around in the tin. Once in the water, they expand. I used only 2 teaspoons, which didn’t look like much dried, but ended up filling my tea ball up almost completely…which isn’t easy to do since it’s an extra big one. The taste was crisp & smelled very good. The one I ...

Product Review – Super Bright LED Rim Lights
A few weeks back, I was sent a pack of Super Bright LED Rim Lights to try out and review. The pack includes 3 pairs of lights, batteries, and tire valve attachment thing. Each pair of lights is a different color. There are two green, two blue, and two multi-colors. They are good for cars and motorcycles. They are also good for helping bicycles be more visible at dusk/night. The lights arrived in a small ziplock pouch with a small insert. The insert didn’t really have instructions about the lights, just a pic of where the batteries. The batteries are already inserted into the lights, but you have to take it apart to remove the paper block so that they work. I had a hard time getting a few of them unscrewed and almost had to use pliers. I also noticed that they are plastic, though they look metal at first glance. I don’t know how well they would stand up to continuous use. One of the green lights didn’t work at all & the other had a crack in it, but the others all worked ...
Product Review – AYL StarLight 330 LED Lantern
Two weeks ago, I was sent an AYL StarLight 330 LED Lantern to test out and review. The lantern run on 3 D size batteries and used LED lights, generating 300 lumens. It can be used continuously for up to 6 days and the lights are guaranteed for up to 100,000 hours of use. It’s also water resistant & can be hung up. I haven’t had a good lantern in a long time & was very eager to try this out. Living in Texas, we get a lot of severe storms and constantly loose power. I wanted something to add to our emergency kit that would be useful, give off a good amount of light, and last a long time. The lantern itself is very sturdy. The globe is removable so that you can get a brighter light. It has a carry handle on the top, and a fold out hook at the bottom that you can hang it will. The batteries go in at the bottom, and it’s easy to get them in & out. The light switch is a push button and has three settings: normal, bright, and flash. It’s already come in handy a few times ...
Product Review – DK BBQ Grill Mats
A few weeks back, I was asked to try out a set of two DK BBQ Grill Mats by Diamond Kitchen. The grill mats are 15.75" x 19.7", non-stick, and can be used over and over again without being replaced. You can cook all of your typical grill food, plus other stuff like eggs, bacon, and veggies. The mats arrived in a skinny box with no instructions on temperature limits or any other info about them. Just two very large mats rolled up. We have a charcoal smoker grill, so we were very leery about even attempting to use them on it. I assumed that flames coming directly in contact with the mats would melt them. The past few days have been the first days without any rain, so I finally decided to try them out by cooking some hamburger patties for lunch. I had difficulty getting and keeping the charcoal lit for a while because it was pretty breezy. Once I was able to get it going, I got the grates in place and got the mat out. The good thing about our grill is that you can easily slide the ...
Product Review – Handheld Wireless Milk Frother
A week ago I received a Handheld Wireless Milk Frother from MatchaDNA to test out and review. The milk frother has a stainless steel shaft & whip, runs on two AA batteries and quickly froths your milk. I was a little surprised when I first got the frother. It was very light and seemed very delicate. I thought that it was going to fall apart either during or after the first use. However, it worked perfectly and I’ve since been having a blast making all sorts of drinks. I’m not even a coffee drink but I’ve been using it to mix up Pumpkin Spice Lattes. They come out really good. In fact, it can be used for thinks other than frothing milk. I have found it to be perfect for giving my hot tea a quick mix after adding sugar. I have also used it for my eggs. You still need to beat the yolks with a fork to break them up, but you can then use the frother to make them fluffier. For cleaning, you can rinse it with warm water and soap. Just don’t get the handle area wet. I’ve been ...
Product Review – Bellemain Heavy-Duty Pastry-Chef Quality Oven Safe Cooling Rack
Last week, I was sent a Bellemain Heavy-Duty Pastry-Chef Quality Oven Safe Cooling Rack to test and review. The rack is designed with perfectly sized air pockets allows your baked goods optimal circulation for setting. The rack is light weight, made of steel, and covered I chrome plate. The size is 12x17, making it the perfect size for my crowded counter top. it easily fits without overhanging. I used it while getting my Christmas baking done. I was able to cool off a pan of brownies without the counter getting hot. I also placed over 2 dozen cookies (in batches) on it to cool. They cooled quickly and didn’t stick when I removed them. It also stood up to a heavy glass Pyrex dish, fresh from the oven, with Cornish hens in it. Overall, the rack is very nice. It’s sturdy and stands up to a variety of hot items being placed on it aside from cookies & other baked goods. It makes a great gift for anyone who enjoys cooking. I am definitely looking forward to using it when ...
