Product Review – Support and Compression Knee Brace
A few days ago, I was sent a support and compression knee brace from Onager Sports. The brace is adjustable and will fit adults with a leg circumference between 11'' to 21' above the knee. It’s made of flexible neoprene that is moisture-wicking, has side lateral stabilizer, and won’t slip down your leg. I typically use a compression sleeve for my knee from time to time. I still get a lot of swelling even though it’s been several years since my surgery. The bad thing about the sleeves, aside from lack of support, is that if my knee is really swollen then it won’t go on easily & ends up being way too tight. I’ve been looking for an adjustable brace to use, so I was interested in checking this one out. I was a little hesitant about it due to it being neoprene. I expected it to be really hot and uncomfortable. However, it wasn’t too bad. It’s adjustable with very well made Velcro straps, so I didn’t have to worry about if my knee was swollen. If it starts getting too ...
Product Review – In-Ear Headphone Stereo Earbuds
Last week, I was asked to try out and review a pair of In-Ear Headphone Stereo Earbuds Noodle Earphones from Karnotech. They plug in through a headphone jack and work with both smartphones and MP3 players. It also has a call button & volume control, and comes with extra headset caps in assorted sizes. I haven’t had any earphones in a long time, so I was excited to try these out. The sound comes out great and I was very impressed with it. They also sat comfortably in my ears, which was nice too being that almost every pair I’ve hand in the past tended to become painful after a while. The cord is flat and I noticed that it doesn’t seem to get tangled a whole lot. I put them to the test by using them at the gym with my MP3 player. They worked perfectly. They stayed in and didn’t fall out. They also held up to all the wear and tear as well. Overall, I think these are very nice. They have great sound and so far I haven’t had any issues with them. They are available on ...
Book Review – The Fallen Prince by Amalie Howard
The Fallen Prince by Amalie Howard is the second book in a YA sci-fi series The Riven Chronicles. Riven left her world and Caden behind to return to out in order hunt down her traitorous father, Danton, and bring him to justice. After a year, she is brought back to Neospes to help fend off a massive army of Reptiles that are systematically attacking the city. They are under the control of Cale, the fallen prince. Riven is tasked with finding a way to defeat the army, secure the aide of Avaria (a newly discovered city), and figure out what Danton is up too, all while there is another traitor in their mist working for the Reptiles. Will she be able to pull it all off? I had a little be harder time getting through this book than I did the first one. There is a lot going on all at once, and there are some very choppy parts in the narrative. The whole Sebba/Bass explanation was very confusing at first. They kept mentioning clones, so it was hard to tell if they were talking about ...

Book Review – The Almost Girl by Amalie Howard
The Almost Girl by Amalie Howard is the first book in a YA sci-fi series The Riven Chronicles. Riven is the Legion General of Neospes, a war ravaged & desolate planet in a parallel world to ours. As the right hand to Prince Cale, she had everything. However, in the midst of a political coup Riven flees to our world to find Cale’s brother, who was hidden away as a baby, and bring him back. Stuck in a world that she doesn’t understand, she must navigate high-school order to get close to her target, Caden, while dodging enemy forces and trying to discover who she really is. The story started out kind of rough plot-wise because you get dumped in the middle of the action without much background info on anything. As you get further into the book things start to become clearer, but it’s still a little hard to keep up with at times. The plot picks up once they return to Neospes, and the conclusion of the novel is great. For me, the characterization hurt the story. Riven is ...
