The Stomach Bug That Wouldn’t Die!!!

May 30, 2014

Okay, I know...it sounds like a really bad movie, but the stomach bug has been bad!  my daughter got it first at the start of last week.  She was fine when she went to bed, and when she woke up in the morning she started throwing up.  It wasn't a lot at first.  She tried to eat a little and went back to sleep for about two hours.  She was fine when she got back up but after going in to use the bathroom, she started throwing up again.  So, I called her doctor.  We ended up having to wait until afternoon to get her in, and  all they said to do was make sure she drank lotsof water and have her eat the BRAT diet for a day to two. She was mostly better by the end of the next day, so I figured that was it.  Flash forward a to Sunday (25th).  We finally got the kitchen pipe unclogged, my husband had made a wonderful steak dinner, and our daughter was in bed sound asleep.  It was about 11:15 pm and we were getting ready to get settled into bed.  My stomach had been bothering me a little so ...

Product Review – Ozeri Weightmaster II Bath Scale

May 29, 2014

A few weeks back, I was sent an Ozeri Weightmaster II bath scale from Ozeri. Ozeri makes tons of useful products ranging from kitchen tools to jewelry. I’ve reviewed several Ozeri products in the past, all of which have been excellent. The scale has a digital face and a 30 day memory, displaying not only your current weight, but also how much you have gained or lost since the last time you used it. The display also changes color depending on it weight was gained or lost; green for loss and red for gain. It also has also been treated with Microban to help protect it from accumulating germs. The scale is very sturdy. The face display is clear and very easy to read. I love the memory function and it scrolls through the most recent uses automatically once it reads your weight. It has been very helpful in trying to figure out what diet plan is working best for me. The best part is that it’s designed to auto-recognize up to 8 unique users, so you don’t have to worry about your day to day ...

Product Review – Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Compact Scout Knife

May 29, 2014

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. Last week, I was sent a Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Compact Scout Knife from Swords of the East.  Swords of the East is an online site that sells swords and knives.  The Gerber was founded in 1939 and is based in Portland. They make a large variety of knives for many uses. The Compact Scout knife is about the length of my hand and very light. The blade is a ½ serrated high carbon stainless steel drop point blade (which is supposed to retain its edge), it locks back, and there is a nail nick for easy opening. The handle is grey plastic.  It also comes with a fold out survival guide. I’m always looking for a good pocket knife, but I would be a little leery of having to depend on it in a survival situation. The blade is very sharp, but the handle is very flimsy. I would be worried about it breaking in my hand trying to cut branches for kindling or something else where you would be putting a lot of force on the handle. ...

Product Review – Coobie Seamless Bras

May 27, 2014

A few weeks back, I was sent to Coobie Seamless Bras. Coobie bras are a one size, regular fitting 32A thru 36D and full fitting 38 thru 42D. They have removable pads, adjustable straps, and you can sleep in them. Now, I wouldn’t exactly say that my “girls” are huge, but they are ample since having my daughter. It’s been hard to find a bra that fits right because I’m between sizes and nothing seems very confortable. I have to be careful wearing v-neck and scoop shirts because the girls tend to break out if I bend over. I’m also a firm believer in an underwire, since my past experiences without them haven’t been all that good. My hope was that the bras would be comfortable and fit. I picked out the Scoopneck Full Size & V-neck Full Size. They are made of 88% nylon and 12% spandex, and are very silky feeling. I tried on the Scoopneck first. Surprisingly, it was very comfortable and gave me excellent support. The V-neck was the same. It took me a bit to get used to them since ...

Product Review – Babo Botanicals Swim & Sport Replenishing Bubble Bath & Wash

May 27, 2014

A few weeks ago, I was sent a bottle of Babo Botanicals Swim & Sport Replenishing Bubble Bath & Wash. All products from Babo Botanicals are made in small batches on an organic farm, and contain Nutri-Soothe™, a combination of chamomile, calendula, kudzu and watercress, rich in vitamin A, C and D to deliver maximum nutrients, protection and moisturization. Swim & Sport is designed to help soothe your child’s skin after being out in the sun or swimming. The bottle I received was 13.5 ounces. The wash itself is a pale greenish/brown liquid. The first time we used it, my daughter loved the smell. I poured a small amount on wet scrub sponge. It made a rich lather, and left her skin very soft. It’s not only just for great for your kids. I’ve been using it the last week or so after getting my horrendous sunburn. It was the only thing I found that really helped cool it off and kept it from hurting. Overall, I really like the body wash. It’s great for sunburns, and I’m ...
