Book Review – Tell Me A Story: A Parent’s Review of 250 Great Books for Kids by Grace Sandford

April 13, 2014

Last week, I was sent a copy of Tell Me A Story by Grace Sandford.  Tell Me A Story is a guide to the best stories and books for children.  It is broken down into age groups and has in-depth descriptions of the books. The book is broken into 5 sections depending on age.  The ages run from newborn all the way to 15.  This is a massive list of books and you can quickly see that a lot of time went into gathering all of the information.   Books range from well-known classics, like Peter Pan, to newer books like Harry Potter, and many of them are award winners. My daughter is 4, and she’s is just started to read on her own a bit.  We went through the beginner books and she’s already picked out several that she wants.  I also read longer chapter books to her at bed time.  After browsing some of the listed chapter books, she wants to read Ella Enchanted next.  I also saw several that I’m going to suggest to my teenage sister-in-law as well. Overall, this is a wonderful resource for ...

Product Review – Total Colon Cleanse and Detox 7 Day Weight Loss Slim System

April 12, 2014

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. A few weeks back, I was sent a bottle of Total Colon Cleanse and Detox.  Made by Elite Gold Solutions, it promotes natural weights loss, boost energy & improve health by gently listening and softening built up waste matter in your colon. I have never tired a colon cleanse product before, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect.  I hoped that it would help me loose at least a few pounds and maybe even get rid of a little fluid.  You take one pill twice a day with a full glass of water before a meal, for seven days.  When I checked out the amazon page for info, I saw that several of the reviews posted that they were taking at least three to get better results. While taking it, I noticed a slight increase in energy and I felt better.  I also noticed that I wasn’t retaining as much fluid during the day.  By the end of the week, I was down about 5 pounds.  However, the weight was back after a few days.  I decided to try ...

Product Review – Glamorous Gold Long Straight Wig Ponytail from MyeSoul

April 11, 2014

Two weeks ago, I was sent a Glamorous Gold Long Straight Wig Ponytail from MyeSoul.  MyeSoul is a site that carries a wide variety of women’s clothing & accessories, including Lolita dresses, costumes, wigs and more. The wig ponytail is synthetic & gives you a long, flowing ponytail.  It is blonde colored with highlights, and is curly.  It attaches to your hair with a built in clip.  My hair is too short, so my daughter tried it on.  I pulled her hair up into a ponytail, and then folded it up to fit into the clip.  It looks really long on her, but is great for dress up.  The only issue I noticed is that the clip is really hard to open.  It took a few tries to get it open enough to be able to get her hair into to it. Overall, I liked the wig.  The clip is a little hard to open but once in place, it looks great.  You can also wash it and brush it.  The wig costs $24.99 (+ shipping).  You can check out MyeSouls other items at their website. This is a sponsored post from ...

Yoga is really popular these days, and chances are you may know someone who does it.  Yoga originated in ancient India and is made up of physical, mental, and spiritual practices that are geared towards attaining a permitted peace of mind.  People primarily use the physical forms of yoga as an exercise programs and for physical therapy.  It also helps reduce stress and alleviate health problems. To get started, you need to figure out which type of yoga you want to do.  There are many types to choose from and all are very different from each other.  Some, like Ashtanga, are very physical.  You need to be aware of your physical limitations before picking one.  The best option to start out with is Hatha since it is the foundation of every style.  It’s perfect for beginners since it is gentle and gives you a basic idea of what to expect with the other styles.
