A few days ago, I was sent a DVD copy of Scooby-Doo! 13 Spooky Tales: Surf’s Up Scooby-Doo!, the newest release for Scooby-Doo. The gang head out to a Florida beach resort for vacation…and to attempt to cure Fred of his net obsession. They see an obscene amount of net-themed decor, food, beaches, and a sea monster?! Will the gang solve the mystery, or will they be all washed up? Plus there are another 12 episodes to watch, and all of them share a nautical theme.
My daughter has absolutely loved this DVD set, and I’ve already lost track of how many times she’s watched it over the past few days. Surf’s Up Scooby-Doo! was hilarious. I loved the whole net obsession with Fred. Who hasn’t thought that about him at least once over the years? They also have a good bit at the beginning with everyone trying to get to his front door & having to dodge traps.
It was also great to see some many episode of the original series included too. I grew up watching them, and my daughter was thrilled to see something that I watched when I was little. Aside from the original series, they included episodes from A Pup Named Scooby-Doo (another one from my childhood), Scooby-Doo & Scrappy-Doo, The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries, Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!, & What’s New, Scooby-Doo? I hope that I didn’t leave any out.
Overall, it’s a great set with several very classic episodes. You can own it on 2-disck DVD and Digital HD on May 5.
