Two weeks ago, I was sent a set of Ozeri Serafino Double Wall Insulated Beverage and Coffee Glasses. The glasses are made of heat and shatter resistant borosilicate glass. This keeps your hands cool when drinking a hot drink and also keeps condensation off the glass when you have a cold drink. The set comes with two glasses & each one holds 12 oz of liquid.
I was interested in trying these because they looked very useful to me. I drink a lot of hot tea & hot cocoa. I have a ton of mugs, but even they tend to be a bit too hot to handle at times. I also have to keep after my husband about putting drinks on coasters so out antique tables don’t get messed up. You would think that after seven years of marriage he’d learn/remember….but he doesn’t.
The glass has a contour/indention that helps give you a good grip. This makes them easy to hold on to. As far as keeping your hand cool, they work great. I’ve had tea and cocoa in them with no problem what so ever. And they are great for cold drinks too. I left a glass of KoolAid out on the counter until it was room temperature, and there wasn’t any condensation.
They only downside of the glass is that even though it is shatter resistant, it’s still fragile. If you drop them or knock something hard into them, they will break…just like Corelle plates. I noticed on several of the Amazon review that people complained about the glasses breaking when put in the dishwasher. When I first opened the box, there was an insert that plainly stated that while you can put them in the dishwasher, it’s best to wash them by hand due to the fact they might get knocked into something during the wash cycle. I’ve washed mine by hand and have had no problems.
Overall, I think the glasses are great. I have gotten a lot of use out of them already. They are a bit fragile, but as long as you are careful with them then you shouldn’t have any problems. The set is available on Amazon for $19.95 (+ shipping).
I received the above mentioned product for free to help facilitate my review.
