The America’s Farmers Giveaway [ENDED]

March 26, 2014

Farming is still a major source of many of the foods we use today.  Did you know that there are 90 millions acres plant to corn here in the US and that these acres product about 40% of the worlds corn?  Corn is used for many things, including ethanol production.  Aside from corn, there are about 75 million acres planted to soybeans.  I acre of soybeans can produce 2,500 gallons of spy milk, 40,000 8oz servings of tofu, and over 82,000 crayons.

Recently I introduced the Matthews, a family that has been farming for several generations.  Today, let’s meet the Woodrow Family.  The Woodrows live in Illinois and grow corn, wheat, and soybeans.  Kelly Woodrow started farming with his dad, Don, in 1978 when he was 18 years old.  Don is now retired, and Kelly’s sons have now stepped into the business and help run the farm.  You can learn more about the Woodrows and other farm families by visiting America’s Farmers.

This is a sponsored post.

I’m for the MATTHEWS! It is so admirable that the two boys took over when their dad died young. And now Travis is keeping the farm going with his family. Also corn and soybeans are crops I SUPPORT our farmers, GMO or not! These crops help feed many people around the world with the US generosity. This is the type of family that made America strong, and we should be behind them 200%!

The Matthews family, from MO, really inspires me. Raising 4 children and farming 8,000 acres is very hard work. They do it because they love it and to help with America’s food crops. My hats off to them. Great looking family.
