Potty training sounds easy, but it can be a bit tricky for some. I ended up having to have gummy bears & stickers on hand to get my daughter to stay on the potty long enough to go. Even then, she found it more amusing to go streaking through the house yelling “I’m naked!” (when she says it, it comes out ‘naken’) at the top of her lungs & waving her shorts around. But, at long last she got it. She has no problem using the bathroom at home or other people’s houses; she’s just deathly afraid of public restrooms…not that I can blame her. I thought that once she was trained that I was done with the hard part. Not true. The hard part is getting through bedwetting.
Bedwetting happens sometimes and I have a hard time explaining to my daughter that it’s okay when it does. For her, it only happens when she’s very tired after a busy day or has had to take some sinus medicine. She’ll end up sleeping heavy enough that she doesn’t wake up when she has to go. To help, we decided to take the Undercover Mission from GoodNites.
The mission is to try out GoodNights underwear for three nights, and have them report back on their progress. GoodNights are discrete so that you can’t tell that your child is wearing them. They like real underwear and are very soft. My daughter liked them right away, especially since they had a Tinkerbell pattern on them. I loved that she was easily able to pull them up and down to go to bathroom, plus they help keep the bed form getting wet, which is the part the upsets her so much. During Hannah’s three night mission, she didn’t have any accidents. She was very proud and made a point of showing off her dry Goodnights.
You can take the Undercover Mission too. You can visit the Goodnights main website to sign up. Once you’re signed up, you can enter to win weekly prizes buy submitting codes. Here is a code to get you started: 8675. You can also check out the GoodNites Facebook page as well to talk about bedwetting and give/receive advice.
