4 Great Lobster Rolls in New England
Ask four people where to find the best lobster roll in New England and you’ll probably get four different answers. Seems simple enough: lobster meat in a hot dog bun. True lobster lovers know it’s not that easy. Here are four suggestions to get your lobster mojo going. Brown’s Lobster Pound Perched over a marsh at the southern-most point of New Hampshire’s 13 miles of Atlantic coastline is Brown’s Lobster Pound. This family-owned restaurant on Highway 286 has been around for 65 years, and it doesn’t disappoint. The lobster is fresh out the tank that you see when you place your order (cash only, by the way). You can sit inside at one of the big picnic tables in the cavernous, no-frills space or head outside to the deck. Spoiler alert: Brown’s has a great view of the Seabrook nuclear power plant across the aptly-named Blackwater River tidal basin, but that hasn’t slowed down Brown’s business one bit. Scarborough Lobster Further north along Route One, you’ll find Scarborough ...
Product Review – Extra Large Picnic Blanket w/ Waterproof Backing
A few weeks back, I was sent an extra-large picnic blanket with waterproof backing from Pratico Outdoors to try out and review. The blanket is 60 in by 80 in and easily folds down to the size of a purse. The one I received was blue & white. We do a lot of outside activities & take at least one trip to the beach each year, so I was very excited to try this out. The first time I spread it all the way out, I was really surprised at how big it was. It’s huge! My husband, daughter & I were able to sit on it with lots of room left over. We could have easily had a few more people sit on it with us. It is pretty soft & comfortable too. It also folds up very small and has a carry handle, you can take it anywhere. What I like most is the backing. It’s waterproof and it helps keep the dirt and leaves form sticking to/through the blanket. It’s especially nice to have at the beach this week since we can sit on it and not get all sandy. Overall, it’s a great item that you ...
