Protect Your Trips with Allianz Travel Insurance

August 29, 2015

Today’s post is sponsored by Allianz Travel Insurance through the Bloggy Moms Network. At some point everyone has to travel, whether it’s for fun family vacations, visiting family, staycations, or work. Every year since 2009, Allianz Travel Insurance conducts its Vacation Confidence Index Survey. The survey for this year found that more Americans will travel, but plan to spend less on their trips. It also suggests that consumers are eager to save money on their summer travel…so they will be looking for the best possible value and opportunities to utilize the sharing economy to save money.  You can read the full results here. These days it’s super easy to find excellent travel deals online, making it easy to plan your dream vacation. However, one very import part of vacation planning is oftentimes forgotten: travel insurance. Travel insurance is important because it covers a pre-paind, not-refundable trip in case something happens & you have to cancel, as well as covers for ...

PINCHme Box for August 2015

PINCHme Box – August 2015

August 28, 2015

Last week, I got this month's big PINCHme box. This month they added in treats & food for pets. Not shown in the pic is two DentaStix. I gave them to my dogs before I took the photo (long but funny story involving a very put out toad).  They didn't last long, and the Cesar was a big hit too. So far, I think my favorite has been the Kura Smoothie mix.  I mixed with some ice, frozen peaches, and milk.  It was very good.  The Scotch Brite Extreme Scrub sponge is also great.  We've been using it to clean the grill grates (and keeps my husband from messing up my regular sponges). If you've never tried PINCHme before, check them out. You get free samples every month. You can sign up here.  You'll get an email when the new samples for the month are ready. ...

Tips for Dealing With Frizz

August 21, 2015

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links. Chances are, no matter what hair type you have, you've had to deal with frizz. It's truly a universal challenge. Have you ever wondered why we get frizz in the first place? The team of experts at Madison Reed has compiled a guide of everything you need to know about frizz, and how best to tame it. Why All the Frizz? So first things first, why do we even get frizz? Well, your hair is made up of three layers and thousands of cells. The hair's outer layer, called the cuticle, looks kind of like a shingled roof. When hair is smooth, the shingles lie flat. But when a brush is run through dry hair, those "shingles” get lifted. Frizz is obviously most prominent with curly and coily hair, but it can take over straight or wavy hair, as well. So what can we do to fight the frizz? Styling Process Be sure to always use a heat protectant or blow dry serums whenever ...

Introduce Reading with Bookroo!

August 21, 2015

There have been a lot of subscription services popping up the past few years for all sorts of things. I ran across a great one that is perfect for introducing young children to the wonder of books. It’s called Bookroo. Bookroo lets you pick between cardboard books (for ages 0 to 3) or picture books (ages 2 to 6+), and then decide on your subscription type. You can go with month-to-month, 3 month, and 6 month plans. Each month, your child will receive a box of new books that they can keep. The service also makes a great gift too. Subscriptions start at $19.99 per month with free shipping in the US. They are currently running a buy one, give promotion for summer reading, and my readers can also save $4 by using this link: http://bit.ly/1LDkqax. ...
