Recipes – Chocolate Eclair Cake

November 30, 2011

A while back, a saw a recipe for a Chocolate Eclair Cake in the Mr. Food Newsletter.  The picture looked absolutely mouthwatering, so I decided to check it out.  The recipe is quick and easy to make, only has a few ingredients and you don't have to bake it. All you need is some french vanilla pudding, cool whip, milk, chocolate frosting and graham crackers.  It took me about 10 minutes to mix the filling (milk, pudding, cool whip) and layer it in a 9x13 baking dish with the graham crackers.  Then it took about 5 minutes to get the frosting spread.  It turned out wonderful!  I've made it twice already, and plan on making it again for our Christmas Eve get-together with Jason's side of the family.I'm not allowed to post the recipe directly here, so I'll just post the link to it:  http://www.mrfood.com/Cakes/Chocolate-Eclair-Cake-by-Mr-Food/ct/1 ...

Product Review – Slice Safety Cutter

November 29, 2011

A few weeks ago, I was sent a Slice™ SafetyCutter - Great for Couponers.  The Slice is a small, hand-held tool that is a safe replacement for siccsors.  The Slice has a small ciramic blade that never gets dull, and will not cut your skin.  It easily cuts through paper, plastic packaging, tape, and more. I've heard about the Slice for years and had always wanted to try one, but I've never really seen it in stores.  I'll tell you, it was worth the wait!  This is the greatest thing ever!  Since I've been having trouble with my hand, there have been days where using scissors is nearly impossible.  With the Slice, I don't have to worry about putting pressure on my thumb or aggravating the joint.  You just hold between two fingers and lightly pull it along whatever you are cutting. You don't have to press down hard at all for most stuff . . . it's like a knife going through butter.  Just make sure that you don't have anything under it that you don't want cut.  The first few times I ...

Black Friday Insanity at Seagoville Walmart

November 27, 2011

Anyone what to see the insanity that my husband had to deal with Thursday night and Friday morning? Absolute madness . . . and that was just in/around the electronics section.  My husband said that he saw people jumping through the air and climbing over others.  He was going to film some of it from his vantage point, but he was too worried that someone might try to grab his phone.  He was lucky he didn't have to guard a stack. They seriously need to consider stopping these sales.  It's not worth the risk of people getting hurt. EDIT:  Fixed the video. ...
