Hannah can count to ten!

December 29, 2011

Hannah has been dazzling us with her counting skills that past few days.  She started counting to ten out of nowhere two nights ago.  She's also been forming all sorts of sentences, naming stuff around the house, and rattling off colors like there's no tomorrow.  We are so excited. She's also been drawing shapes on her Aquadoodle, as well as trying to trace around her hand. ...

It’s my birthday today

December 29, 2011

And what an uneventful birthday it is!  But, I'm just fine with that considering how Christmas went.  It's nice to have a quiet day to relax a bit and put drama & everything else behind you.So, I'm 28 today.  I don't feel "old", but I do feel a bit wore out.  I told mom this morning that my body feels like that of of 70 year old sometimes.  All aches, pains and drama aside, it's been a pretty good year.  And hopefully, this coming year will be good too. ...

Christmas stuff . . . bleh

December 26, 2011

Yesterday was a long, long day.  Between Hannah getting sick and the ridiculous family drama, I'm glad the day is over & done with.  Presents and all were good.  Hannah got all sorts of stuff, including a Pillow Pet and a kitchen set.  I got a bunch of Japanese candy, taro, a Slush Mug, LOTR BluRay extended edition, and all sorts of other neat stuff.  Jason is hard to shop for since he has no hobbies anymore due to the hours he works, so I got him some work shirts, a Charlie Sheen dress shirt (like what he used to wear on Two and a Half Men), and a big box of various soy sauces. My parents came over and we opened more presents, then had breakfast.  They headed home after eating, but came back later for dinner.  Mom had picked up a pork loin, that was the size of a small horse, and I cooked it in my cast iron pot with apple/cranberry dressing.  After dinner, we tried to get Hannah to got to bed . . . a failed somewhat.  We all then watched the Doctor Who Christmas Special and played a ...

Fill in the Blank Friday

December 23, 2011

1. The best way to spread Christmas cheer is decorating, decorating, and more decorating.  Secret Santa events are also a plus. 2. The thing I love most about Christmas is seeing family and watching Hannah try to chew open her presents. 3. The holiday season is "the most wonderful time of the year" (read in a Bing Crosby voice).4. My favorite thing to eat at the holidays is the holiday pop corn tin.  I've gotten one every year since I was a kid.  It's a family tradition. 5. I will be spending Christmas with my family.6. Tis better to (give or receive?) Give.  I love seeing everyone's face what they open up something cool.  Receiving is nice to though. 7. I'm dreaming of a nice & quiet Christmas. ...
