Peelstar Review & Giveaway [ENDED]

September 17, 2013

I was recently asked to try out PeelStar.  PeelStar lets you create custom decals and magnets of your children’s sports jerseys.  The decals can be placed in school lockers or bedrooms, & the magnets can go on cars or anything else metal.  My daughter is still a little young to play sports yet, but she is a huge football fan.  We are proud members of the Raven’s Nation, so I decided to make her a purple jersey with her name one it. The site takes you right into the creator app and you can choose between several different sports (football, baseball, soccer, ect...).  You are able to select colors, fonts, and add custom text.  I used the general color scheme of the team, but tried to make it look different so as not to infringe on copyright.  The jersey itself is purple with black around the sleeves and collar.  The lettering (her name) and number (1) are white.  You also get a big strip at the bottom with the team name, so I put ‘Ravens’ I white text with a black outline.  I got it ...

Get Family-Friendly Furniture at FFModern

September 17, 2013

Being a parent brings both lots of joy and many challenges. The joys include hearing your little one’s first word, seeing them walk for the first time, and all the things they do on a daily basis. The challenges can be hard, but can be overcome. One of the big challenges I’ve found is finding family-friendly furniture that matches our style tastes. Let’s face it, when you have kids, your stuff is going to get stuff spilled on it, spit up on, and all sorts of other accidents. It happens. That’s why it’s important to have stuff that you can clean easily and will stand up to the everyday hustle & bustle of a busy family. My living room tables actually used to belong to my grandparents. They are sturdy and have seen their way through my mom & myself growing up. I’ve also broken a toe just by stubbing it on the coffee table, so I know they can easily stand up to my rambunctious daughter. Our other furniture however…not so much. Our couches, which my husband bought new shortly ...

Get Picnic Gear at Picnicbaskets.net

September 17, 2013

I love being able to spend time with my family, but with the crazy work schedule that my husband has, it’s can be really hard to find both time and a quick activity for us all to do. One simple activity that we’ve found and enjoy is going on a family picnic at our local park. Picnics are very simple to put together, and are great for any occasion…like a romantic dinner or celebration party. The most important gear that you need is, of course, the picnic basket and a nice comfortable blanket. There is a wide variety of baskets available now. You can go with the classic wicker basket, or go with cloth or plastic totes. Blankets come in any design and size. Aside from baskets & blankets, there are all sorts of interesting gear that you can get too. There are shade canopies that are perfect for places that don’t have a lot of shade. Our park has a pavilion, so we don’t have much use for a canopy there, but we have used them other places like at the beach. You can also get ...

Quick Site Update

September 15, 2013

I've gotten all of the categories reorganized, so all of the posts should be coming up now.  I'll still be going back through a combining some so that there aren't as many.  Also, I've got a bunch of reviews I'm going to be putting up the next few days, and a few giveaways as well.  Hopefully that will get me all caught up. ...

Article – Christmas Lights – More Than Just for Chirstmas

September 13, 2013

I know, I know….it’s not even Thanksgiving yet and here I am already writing about Christmas.  But since many of the craft stores are already filled to the brim with decorations, trees & other yule-tide trimmings, I might as well start talking about holiday stuff.  Today, I’’ be taking a look at the one most important, and often overlooked, item in the Christmas decoration arsenal: Christmas lights. Christmas lights have a wide variety of uses.  While they look great one a tree and out in a yard, there is so much more you can do with them year round.  When I was a kid, my dad would put string lights up around the kitchen cabinets & counter.  We’d turn them on at night to eat dinner, or leave them on as a nightlight in case someone got up in the middle of the night.  I also used to use a candle stick light as a nightlight in my room. Even now, I find uses around the house for them.  I have a string of C9 multi-colored lights that I use from time to time in the bed room.  I ...
