There are so many great shows on the air anymore that it’s hard to keep up with them. I have several that I watch and don’t miss an episode of. One of my favorites is returning from its midseason break this weekend: The Walking Dead. The Walking Dead, based off a successful comic of the same name, is a highly acclaimed show on AMC about survivors of the zombie apocalypse & has an all-star cast including Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride. While the show is full of zombies (walkers), the primary focus is on the survivors. Let’s do a quick Recap what’s happened so far this season. You can get caught up on previous seasons online with Time Warner Internet. The first half of the season saw many changes within the group. Rick (Lincoln) stepped down as group leader so that he could focus on his son and baby daughter. His son had gotten too desensitized to all the violence and had shot someone in cold blood at the end of the previous season. The group was now ...

America’s Farmers — Meet the Matthews
You might not think it, but farming is still the major source for many of the foods our country consumes. Soybeans, cotton, and corn are just a few of them items grown. In fact, agriculture is the nation’s largest employer, providing jobs to 23 million Americans, from farming, to processing, to storage, to transportation and everything in between. The majority of farms are owned and operated by families. Many families have been farming for several generations, while others are just starting out. One family, The Matthews, started farming in 1993 when Travis & his brother Hoss took over the family farm after their father was killed in an accident. They were both in high school at the time. Today, Travis and his wife Melinda have four children: Grant, Avery, Hudson, and Emelia. They grow 8,000 acres of corn, soy, and a little wheat on their farm in Missouri. I have a hard enough time just trying to grow vegetables in my yard, so I can’t even begin to imagine how much hard ...
Product Review – Doll Clothes Superstore
A few weeks ago, I got to pick out a set of matching girl and doll dresses from Doll Clothes Superstore. Doll Clothes Superstore makes clothing and accessories for a large number of popular dolls on the market, including American Girl, My Twinn & Barbie. My daughter has several small size baby dolls that she is just now starting to play with a bit, so I figured that she would love to have a matching outfit set. I wasn’t sure at first which size to get for the doll. The rep told me that the ‘baby doll’ size fits most dolls in the 15 inch size range. The ‘Cabbage patch’ size is slightly bigger & will fit dolls in the 15 to 18 size range. After taking a quick measure, I got the ‘baby doll’ size and a size 5 for the matching child dress. When the dresses arrived, we though they were absolutely beautiful. The doll dress fits on my daughter’s dolls perfectly, and she’s found that she can also put it on several of her smaller teddy bears too. The dress for her is a big ...
Product Review – Shandali Travel Towel
Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. A few weeks back, I was sent a Shandali Travel Towel. The towel is made to be light weight, very absorbent, and fast drying…making it the perfect travel item no matter where you are going. It is available in two sizes, small (20"x40" inches) and medium (24"x48" inches). I received the medium in River Blue. I was surprised how thin it was when I first received it. I was even more surprised at how much water it absorbed. I was not only able to completely dry off my daughter after a bath, but also get her hair almost completely dry as well without the towel hardly feeling damp. It was dry again in a few minutes without ringing the water out. I also used it to help dry the seat in my car after the sunroof leaked during a thunderstorm. It took up the majority of the water before having to ring it out. Once it dried, maybe about 10 minutes later, I was able to dry them the rest of the way. Since the towel is so ...
