Looking for Newsletter Content Ideas

August 1, 2024

If you haven't noticed, I actually have the newsletter sign up widget installed on the sidebar. That means I now have to come up with content to share each month. I'm planning on sending one out once a month, and alert emails when a giveaway is starting, ending, and has a winner. The giveaway emails are pretty straight forward. Newsletter content on the other hand... So, what kind of things would you like to see? Here are some of the ideas I have so far: I'm totally open to suggestions. Post your ideas in the comments below. Just keep in mind it needs to be family friendly. ...

Some Quick Updates

May 3, 2024

Things have been extremely quiet around here for a very long time...really since 2016. Life has pretty much been in the way of blogging for the most part. Just so this isn't TLDR post, here is what has been going on: So, that's pretty much everything in a nutshell. The move to an entirely new location was very sorely needed. Its like we are finally getting our fresh start after 8 years. And I really want to get back into posting and doing product reviews. I miss it. Ironically enough, my full-time job is a Copywriter/Marketing Coordinator so I still do a lot of writing daily. However, it's all about light bulbs. 10 years ago, if you told me I'd be making a living waxing poetic about LEDs and commercial fixtures, I'd say you were crazy. But here I am...quite literally: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTFCQrlKn8U It cool that they are putting my product review skills to good use. So keep an eye out. There are new posts and content on the horizon!! ...

The Flash - The Complete Fourth Season

TV Review – The Flash: The Complete Fourth Season

September 7, 2018

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own. The Flash: The Complete Fourth Season picks up with Barry still trapped in the speed force. When Central City is threatened by a new powerful villain, Cisco works to free him. With Barry free, Clifford DeVoe, aka The Thinker, begins a deadly game with Team Flash and is always ten steps ahead. Will they be able to outmaneuver him? Season 4 was full of action and I really enjoyed it. Hartley Sawyers portrayal of Ralph Dibny (aka The Elongated Man) made the entire season. It was spot on the comics. The Thinker was great too, though I didn’t think much of Marlize DeVoe. A lot of her scenes came off as forced and she could have at least gotten a decent villain outfit that didn’t involve her looking like she had greasy hair. Cecile's sudden telepathic abilities were hilarious, especially once she started truing into everyone. And Danny Trejo ...

Running Belt

Product Review – Urban Active Sports Running Belt

June 21, 2016

Last week, I received a Running Belt from Urban Active Sports for try out and review.  It has multiple pockets for your keys, money, ID, and credit cards.  It also has a pocket with a clear front that allows you to use your cell phone.   It also comes with two free gifts: Urban Runner's Survival Guide Ebook and a set of elastic laces. My mom recently signed over her gym membership over to me and I hadn’t been yet at the time I received the running belt.  I really needed something I could put my phone and stuff in that wasn’t super bulky and wouldn’t get in the way while I was using the machines. This belt totally fits the bill.  I was able to put my phone in the very front pocket, and toss in my ID, some cash, and a debit card with plenty of room left over.  I didn’t have anything to put in the small side pockets.   The key pocket is more for sliding in a house key, so my car keys didn’t fit…but that was ok since the gym has key hooks.  The belt fit easily around my waist and I ...

Product Review – JORD Watches

May 30, 2016

A few days ago, I received a hand crafted wooden watch from JORD.  JORD designs their watches to have a modern look.  Each watch is hand crafted when you order and sized to fit you.  Each watch comes in a wooden keepsake box, and come with a cleaning cloth, spare replacement parts, and a warranty card. JORD has multiple watch designs for both men and women, and I choose the Sully in Red Sandalwood & Maple.  I ordered the watch directly through the rep.  All I needed to do was measure my wrist.  There was a page that I printed out and then cut out the measuring strip.  It took me less than two minutes.  After that, I sent the info over to the rep & a few days later it was shipped. I was absolutely stunned at how the watch looked when I first opened the box.  It is absolutely beautiful.  The pictures on the website don’t do it any justice at all.  The colors really set it off.  The watch is completely wooden, excepted for the internal clock parts and the metal clasp.  The ...

DiamondTab Review & Giveway [ENDED]

February 23, 2016

Last week, I was sent a DiamondTab Dry Erase board to try out and review. The board is 11x14, a good size that will easily fit on a wall or the refrigerator. It also comes with mounting hardware (magnets or sticky tabs), a marker with eraser, and 4 magnets. I already had a small board on my refrigerator that I used for quick notes. The DiamonTab board is double the size of that one, so I’m able to use it for more things. Two of the magnets are normal round ones. The other two look like jewels. Those were promptly pilfered by my daughter and are now on her dry erase board in her room. All four magnets are fairly strong and can easily hold several pieces of paper. The marker also has a magnet so that it can stick to the board. It did fall off though, but I reattached it with the glue gun. The assorted mounting hardware that came with it looks good, but I haven’t used any of it yet. I will probably end up using the magnet strips on it though. Right now, I’ve been using it to keep ...
