A few days ago, I was sent a large box full of Boneless Skaters and accessory sets. Boneless are motorized toy skateboard with poseable skaters that can go forward or backward. They are charged up using a base that runs on three AA batteries, and the skaters themselves can be posed in various ways to affect the way they move and make jumps. The box I received included three skaters (Mia, Ryan, & Luca) with boards and chargers, the Big Air Mega Ramp, and Super Street Sk8Prk. The idea behind these are pretty neat and I’m surprised there hasn’t been something similar. The execution, however, is a little lacking. The Skaters & Boards The skater charges withing a few seconds, but you must hold them down onto the charger. Otherwise they’ll go flying off as the wheels start spinning as soon as there is a slight charge. Sliding the board forward allows the skater to move forward only. Sliding it back allows it to switch between forwards & backwards when it hits something. ...

Product Review – Laser X, Spybot, and All Pro Passer
A few days ago, I was sent a giant box full of some awesome toys to try out. I received a set of Laser X Long Range Blasters, Spybot Room Guardian, and an All Pro Passer. Since there are several things to review, I’m going to break this up into sections. Spybot Room Guardian The Room Guardian is a medium sized robotic toy that hangs on a wall or door with an included hanger. It has a built-in motion sensor that sets of an alarm when motion is detected. There are also little fin-like things that pop out as well. In order to turn the alarm off, you have to enter the user-set code using the four red button on the front. The code is set when you first turn the toy on and can be changed by turning the Guardian off & then back on again. It is fairly loud when it goes off & it even says “Intruder, Intruder!”. The hanger for this is a clear adhesive square with the hanging knob built in. It definitely doesn’t look like it will come off the wall/door after it is stuck in ...
ProjeX Review and Giveaway
Last week, I was sent a ProjeX game to try out with my family and review. ProjeX is a portable projector that displays arcade-quality shooting targets of varying difficulty levels. This system operates on just two AA batteries and does not require a tv. Each projector comes with two blasters (which don’t need batteries) and three slides. The slides are color-coded for difficulty level: blue is easy & shows targets; red is medium & shows UFO; white is hard & shows ducks. Out of the box, all the system needs are batteries. The projector should be placed on a low table about 5 feet away from the wall. Turn off the lights, and you are good to go. It took us a few minutes to get it to turn on, and once it did the entire base lit up. There is a small front display that keeps score and the blasters can be placed in built-in holders for storage. We started out with the blue slide and slowly worked our way up. Each slide has 5 different games, so there are a lot of variations ...
Product Review – Glow in the Dark Slime Science Kit
Two weeks ago, I was sent a Glow in the Dark Slime Science Kit by Discover with Dr. Cool to try out and review. The kit comes with everything thing you need to create to different colors of slime; one green & one blue…both of which glow in the dark. It also comes with a bonus activity booklet with games & puzzles as well. My daughter thought that this was the coolest thing ever, and was chomping at the bit to mix of the slime from the moment it arrived in the mail. To mix it up, you need a bowl & some warm water (1 cup). Mix the water & the slime powder in the bowl & use the provided stick to site very quickly. Once it’s mixed, you can keep it in the plastic contains that come in the kit. We attempted the make the blue first. It ended up kind of messed up because the water was a little too warm & my daughter wasn’t stirring it fast enough. We ended up with a small amount that wasn’t very gooey or slimy. I made the second one, the green, with no ...
Product Review – Delta Kite with Tail
Two weeks back, I was sent a large Delta Kite with Tail from Get Childish to try out and review. The kite is 180 x 90 cm and made of nylon & resin. The kite was a lot bigger that I first thought it would be. It arrived in a long box & my husband thought that I had ordered a fishing rod or something. The kite comes folded up in a carrying bag with the main poles already in place. All you need to do to assemble it is to put the cross pole in place and attach the string. When fully assembled, it was easily as wide as my couch and nearly as tall as my daughter. We had a hard time being able to take it out to fly it. It had been storming almost every day. We finally had a clear day and were able to get it in the air for about two minutes before a massive storm moved it. It flew beautifully & drew a lot of people’s attention at the local park. We were a little leery of letting my daughter fly it by herself since she’s still little, but she had a blast watching it fly. We ...
Product Review — PrivateIslandParty.com
Last month, I was asked to take a look at PrivateIslandParty.com & pick out a few accessories to try out. The site offers an assortment of party supplies, novelty items, and accessories. Many of the items are available in bulk, like hats, wigs & capes. After looking through everything, I picked out a black cape, fishnet gloves, and a child’s superhero cape. After placing my order with the site rep, she called me to let me know that the superhero cape was out of stock and that they were going to send me out a new one. I was told that the items were being shipped that day, but after three weeks I still hadn’t received them. I found out through Tomoson that the rep was no longer with the company and that a replacement shipment was being sent out. I received everything three days later. The black cape was nice, and you can leave the color down or flip it up. The gloves fit perfectly and just about reach my elbow. I plan of using them as part of a Rocky Horror ...
