Bloodlines: Everything That Glitters is the first in a series of young adult fantasy novels by first time author Myunique C. Green. Alizarin and her twin brother Ash were as normal as people could be…until they started getting strange abilities. Before long, they find out that their mother is actually a nature goddess from another dimension who has lost her powers and memories, & there is a power-hungry being after Alizarin because she is the subject of a prophecy. Why can she just be normal? The overall plot of the story is very good, and I liked it a lot. I’m not usually one for fantasy but this was very interesting. However, it has some major grammar and storyline issues that need to be fixed. The grammar issues are easy to fix, since it was all fairly simple stuff (spelling mistakes, missing words, run-on sentences, & words that are used incorrectly). There were also a few format glitches on the Kindle version. She really just needs to have someone edit it.The storyline ...

Book Review – The Harvest by Clint Morey
The Harvest is a science fiction novel by Clint Morey. Mutants are bred for the sole purpose of organ donating. They are nearly impossible to tell apart from humans, and spent their entire lives in harvesting facilities. When the mutants at one facility break out and attack the nearby town, chaos breaks out. A cop, Cody, and a defected mutant, Steph, must come together in order to survive the night. The story was very well written and had very well-rounded characters. While the overall concept of ‘clones for parts’ have been done before in the past (see Parts: The Clonus Horror or The Island), the take on this was refreshing. The mutants age quickly over the course of 10 years and when they are harvested, everything is taken…not just one or two things. This makes the opening chapter even more dramatic since you are seeing a harvesting first hand. The overall focus of the story is the moral aspects regarding the use of the mutants. From the very start, the mutants are ...
Product Review – Personal Creations
A few weeks ago, I got to try out Personal Creations. Personal Creations is part of the Red Envelops family of sites, and has hundreds of items that you can personalize with names and messages. They make great gifts that your loved ones are sure to enjoy. I went ahead and checked out the Mother’s Day section since my mom’s birthday was this month. I had already gotten a present for her, but wanted my daughter to look at the site to see if she could pick something out. She quickly saw the Garden FairyStakes and said that she wanted that one. We personalized it with ‘Love You Grandma’, like the one shown on the page. I also picked out an extra gift for my husband, the Summer Love Tree Print with our names & anniversary on it, and found a very neat retro diner sign to put up in my kitchen. The site was very easy to navigate and it was very easy to enter in the personalization info. The shipping is also good since its one price for everything; flat-rate shipping starting ...
Product Review – Star Wars Jedi Robe Costume
Two weeks ago, I got to pick out a cool Star Wars costume from Costume Supercenter. They carry a large selection of costumes & accessories year-round, and everything is very reasonably priced. I am a huge Star Wars fan, so I jumped onto the site right away to see what all they had. Since it’s still the beginning of the year, a lot of the really neat costumes were out of stock. There were a few nice Prince Leia costumes, but they didn’t have them in the larger sizes at the time I was looking. So, I went with the one item I have always wanted: The Jedi Robe. No jedi costume is complete without it, plus it looks really cool on its own. It arrived about a week later, and the quality is excellent. My daughter ran around the house with it for two days and it hasn’t even got a snag in it. The size is a ‘one size fits most’ in men’s, so the sleeves are just a little long…but I think it adds to the overall look. I also really like the rough, woven look it has as well. I ...
Daddy Diaper Backpack Review & Giveaway [ENDED]
A few weeks back, I was sent a Daddy Diaper Backpack. The pack is made by DaddyScrubs, a company that makes all sorts of neat stuff geared towards dads, including scrubs, hats, shirts & more.I was very excited to try this since my husband absolutely hates carrying around our daughter Winnie the Pooh diaper bag. He’s more open to carrying my purse. The backpack has several large compartments, as well as a ton of smaller ones that you can fit just about everything in, including keys, phones, wallets and more.. It also has pockets on the side for bottles. We have already gotten a great deal of use out of it. We’ve been packing it up on the days I have physical therapy for my husband to have while he is shopping with our daughter. It’s also the perfect overnight bag for when she stays with grandma too. I can get her wipes tub, diapers (for when she’s out), learning laptop, and blanket in the big compartment. All of her clothing, Sippy cup & other assorted stuff easily fit in the ...
Product Review – EpiCor
A while back, I was asked to test out EpiCor. EpiCor is a natural ingredient that works to help boost your immune system. I was sent two bottles, along with some extra goodies as well.I had somewhat mixed results with this one. Since I’m not exactly sure what all is in it, I was a bit leery of taking it since I have medicine allergies. Plus, I already take multi-vitamins and drink a lot of orange juice for the Vitamin C, & I didn’t want to have any bad reactions to stuff mixing. When I first received my bottle of EpiCor, I had a sinus infection, so I had to wait to finish the antibiotic I was taking before I could start. I took a pill every other day just to be safe side. While taking it, I didn’t really notice any difference in the way I felt. I still was having problems with my sinuses, but was treating it with Claritin. I did notice that this didn’t seem to make my stomach hurt like the probiotics did in the past. I think that if I was taking it daily that I would get better ...
