Riding on a Beam of Light is a children’s ebook by Ramsey Dean, and illustrated by Noah Hamdan. Albert is a little boy with a huge imagination. It doesn’t take much for him to be imagining all sorts of things, including riding around on a beam of light. Take a look into one of the many day dreams of a young Albert Einstein that eventually fueled his scientific theories and discoveries.I've always been a fan of science stuff, so I was very excited to read this to my daughter. The story was a very quick read, and was very informative. Mr. Dean added in a lot of info about Albert Einstein, so now my three year old has a basic grasp of who he was. The illustrations were wonderful and my daughter was absolutely enthralled by them. I liked them as well. It also made me curious about Einsteins theory of relativity. I only ever learned the basics about it, but not the story behind it. I've been looking it up to past few days and have found out all sorts of neat stuff. Once my ...

Product Review – Woolzies Dryer Balls
A few months back, I was sent a box of XL Woolzies Dryer Balls. Woolzies are large wool balls that replace the use of dryer sheets. They eliminate static, wrinkles and help your clothing/towels/sheets dry faster. They are also a green product, and one ball can last a thousand loads. Normally my product testing turnaround time on items like this is a lot faster and doesn’t span several months. However, I ran into a bit of an issue with this one. I kept getting inconstant results depending on what it was I was drying. So, over the course of a few months, I kept track of what loads were in the dryer and noted several factors: dry time, wrinkles & static. Now, my laundry loads vary. I wash my and my daughter’s clothes together, and, occasionally, some of my husband’s white stuff will mix in. My husband’s work clothes are a separate load washed with Woolite Dark (great stuff by the way). Towels just get tossed in by themselves, as well as sheets, and jeans are also washed ...
Product Review – YourNovel
A few weeks back, I was asked to check out YourNovel. YourNovel is a site that let’s you pick out a pre-written romance story and customize the characters to be whoever you want. They have over 47 stories that cover a variety of categories, including fantasy (vampires, zombies, pixies), cruises & adventures.Once you pick out your story, you can pick if you want the regular romance or the ‘wild’ romance. The wild romances have slightly more graphic love scenes, but nothing too explicit. They give you a sample scene from both versions to help you decide. Then you can add in all your character info. You get to customize a lot of details about the characters, including names, hair color & perfume/scent. All of the stores use the same form, so you many end up filling info in that doesn’t get used. Once you are done with that, you can order your book. You can choose between getting a hardcover, paperback or ebook. The books are ready in a few days and then mailed out.I got a period ...
Grammarics Review & Giveaway [ENDED]
Last week, I was asked to check out Grammarics’ Pictorial Guide to Commons Errors in English Usage (Volume 1). Grammarics covers all the common mistakes that people make with commas, spelling, word usage, and more.Over the past couple of years, I’ve noticed that I’m picking up on grammar issues when I’m reading stuff more than I ever had in the past. I don’t always catch it in my own writings, mostly since I tend to crank stuff out pretty quick…but I do notice it when I’m reading books. It’s gotten to the point that I have to keep myself from getting a pencil to mark mistakes or highlight sections on my Kindle. I’m going to assume that they just aren’t teaching the same stuff in English classes that learned when I was a kid. I’ve seen proof of then when helping my younger sister-in-law with homework. So, I was eager to look through this to see if would be of great use to her. I wasn’t disappointed. The book is broken down into chapters, each covering a different issue. Each ...

A week or so back, I was sent some copies of the What to Expect books. These are the best-selling pregnancy books that cover every aspect of your pregnancy...before, during, and after. They are a must have for everyone.I was sent copies of these three books: What to Expect Before You're Expceting, What to Expect When You're Expecting, & What to Expect the First Year. I received several copes of When You're Expecting and First Year during my pregnancy. I think most everyone does. They are a wonderful reference that I didn't even realize that I would need as much as I did. It answers every questing or issue you can possibly have. I didn't have a copy of Before, so this was the first time I read it. It details all the steps and tips that a couple needs to know before they conceive. There is a really good section on what foods to eat and a wonderful section on dealing with a miscarriage. When we got pregnant, it wasn't really planned, but I am definitely hanging on to this one ...
Product Review – Dress United
A few weeks back, I was invited to try out Dress United. Dress United is a new shirt printing site that lets you design custom Dresses and hoodies. They several types of t-shirts you can choose from and have a ton of pre-loaded images that you can use for your shirts. The site layout is very easy to navigate. You can pick between unisex, women’s, hoodies & sweatshirts. From there, the shirt options bread down between fabric quality & price. I went with unisex in ‘Fashion Short Sleeve’, which is 100% cotton and very soft. I already had a design ready to use, so I had to resize it down to fit on the shirt. The upload only took a few seconds and then only a few more to adjust it the way I wanted it on the shirt. After placing my order, it only took about 5 days for my shirt to arrive. It came out looking great. Overall, Dress United is great. The shirts are very affordable and the printing done very professionally. The prices will vary depending on what you are ...
