Disney’s A Wrinkle In Time, based on the award winning novel by Madeleine L’Engle, follows a young girl named Meg who is trying to deal with the loss of her father. Her father disappeared under mysterious circumstances when she was younger, and is bullied by classmates because of this. Her gifted younger brother, Charles Wallace, is ostracized as well. After meeting Mrs. Watsit, Meg finds herself, her brother, and a friend whisked off to rescue her father. This movie had a lot of things going for, including stunning visuals and an A-list cast. However, they quickly became so distracting that the plot and the message got lost almost from the beginning. It did kind of follow the book for the most part. It’s been a long time since I read it. I will say that I was disappointed that they made Mrs. Watsit turn into a giant flying artichoke instead of a horse. Overall, I had a hard time sitting though it but my daughter did enjoy it for the most part. A Wrinkle In Time is available now ...

Product Review – Newdermo Electric Shaver
Last week, I was sent an electric shaver from Newdermo to try out and review. The shaver is waterproof, allowing you to shave in the shower and can be used on all parts of the body. It comes with a cleaning brush. I have been on a quest to find a good electric razor because I am tired of wasting a ton of money on disposables and replacement heads. Plus I need a quick way to take care of my legs in the mornings before going to work. I was hoping that this razor might work. I was sorely disappointed. When it arrived, the box had water damage. It looked like it had been partially submerged at some point. It’s supposed to be waterproof, so I figured there wouldn’t be an issue. Put in two AAA batteries, and it didn’t turn on. I tired multiple set and was never able to get it to turn on. So, I can’t really recommend this one since it didn’t work. I don’t know if the issue is because it was wet at some point, or if it’s a battery terminal issue. I’m in the process of returning it to ...
Product Review – Ancord Bluetooth Shower Speaker
Last week, I was asked to try out and review the Ancord Bluetooth shower speaker. The speaker can connect to your phone via Bluetooth, to an MP3 player with an aux cable, or play audio from an SD card. You can also answer phone calls as well. Its waterproof (IPX6) & shockproof, and has s strap for hanging. I’ve never had a Bluetooth speaker before, so I was very excited to try this out. I’m a little behind the times as far as MP3s go. I still use an MP3 player since I don’t like to eat up space on my phone with them…so having the aux port is a big plus for me. When you turn the speaker one, it tells you what mode you are in. You can cycle though modes by quick pressing the power button. There’s Bluetooth, which it’s default setting, and then FM radio. It took me a bit to figure out how to get it to aux mode. You have to wait to plug in the cord until after it tells you that you are in Bluetooth mode. The sound it puts out is really good. If fact, it can be surprisingly ...
Product Review – The Upbra
A few months back, I was asked to try out the Upbra. The Upbra is, obviously, a bra that lets you increase your cleavage by lifting your breasts up comfortable. They have several bra types available and a bikini top as well. I was sent a Perfect T-Shirt bra and a Convertible bra. I’m going to try to explain how these bras work, so bear with me. I’m sure the Upbra makes can explain this a lot better. The bra work using two crisscrossing straps that can be hooked into multiple slots running the length of the underwires. The straps in turn adjust something built into the cups (a sturdy covered piece of plastic I think). The farther up the underwire you adjust the strap, the more it pushes you up. I wasn’t too sure how these bras would do. In order to fit them, I used the online fitting app on my phone. It was a little awkward being it took assorted measurements of my breasts while holding the phone up to them. It took only a few minutes and it surprisingly picked out a good ...
HORMEL GATHERINGS Party Trays Review and Giveaway [ENDED]
I received a free product in exchange for my honest review. Last week, I was asked to tryout a HORMEL GATHERINGS Party Tray. The trays are typically over in the deli department of grocery stores and have an assortment of meats, crackers, and cheeses. They are a great addition to parties and get-togethers, and are available in assorted sizes. My store had several to choose from, so I grabbed a large one that had salami, peperoni, Colby jack cheese, pepper jack cheese, crackers, and olives. This one was a 39.7oz, and I also picked up a smaller 28oz one as well (it had all the same things minus the olives). I was excited to get the really big one because this is the first time I had seen it at the store (got it at my local Walmart). We opened up the big one up that night to have as a snack while watching a movie. Everything was delicious and the olives added a lot of extra flavor. There were three of us eating on it, so there was plenty left for the next day, which was ...
POTC: Dead Men Tell No Tales Review and Giveaway [ENDED]
Johnny Depp is back as the swashbuckling, rum loving Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tails. Jack is down on his luck with no boat or crew when he meets young Henry Turner. Henry is determined to find the Trident of Poseidon, the anchor of all sea curses, so that he can save his father Will (Orlando Bloom) from the Flying Dutchman. With the help of Carina, a female scientist who is the only one who can read the map to find the trident, they must outrun both Captain Barbossa and the undead Captain Salazar, who has unfinished business with Jack. The previous two entries in the Pirates series had left a lot to desired, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It had the feel and the energy of the first movie. There were some laggy parts, like the unexpected beach wedding, but overall it was neat to see a lot of the loose ends from the previous movies tied up and see a little bit of Jack’s history. One of the bright points of the movies has been seeing Jack ...
