Last week, I was asked to try out and review the Zedity Plugin for Wordpress. Zedity is a premium plugin that allows you create blog posts with ease. You can quickly create numerous text effects, drop in documents & videos, and more. Once the plugin is installed, it will show a small icon in the editing bar. When you click it, you are taken to a popup interface that allows you to get to work on your effects. You can do your entire post in it, or small bits like the one able. All the work is saved when you are finished and is placed in the post as an object that you can then move around. Since it’s going in as an object, you will need to make sure that you adjust the size…which is very simple. All you do is drag the edges of the white grid space up or down to scale the size while you have the editor open. On the object above, I left a little space around the edges. You can also add in more fonts or adjust/remove the Zedity logo. Those options are in the settings, ...

Product Review – Glow2Go Self Tanning Towelettes
A few days ago, I was sent a box of Glow2Go Self Tanning Towelettes by Thermalabs to try out and review. The wipes give you a natural looking tan in less than 4 hours, without any streaking. I’ve always used either gel or lotion, so this was my first experience using wipes. The wipes are a fairly good size, and while saturated with the tanning liquid, they aren’t dripping. In the tip guide, they recommend that you shave and/or exfoliate your skin at least 24 before use and avoid using any lotions in order to ensure an even coverage. I did think the day before, and then used the wipes the following evening. The first thing I noticed was that you cannot tell where you have previously used the wipe, since the liquid goes on clear. So, I took my time and did slow, even strokes. And I also made sure to lightly cover my knees. One wipe covered both legs & the tops of my feet. I noticed that it was getting noticeably dry by the time I finished the second leg, so you would probably ...
Day Trip DFW – Ham Orchard (Terrell, TX)
My husband’s work schedule has loosened up a little, so he’s been able to actually get his days off more often than not lately. We don’t get to do a lot as a family usually and since this is the last summer before our daughter starts school, we wanted to take advantage of being able to get away and do a little something…even if it’s just for a day. The Dallas/Fort Worth area has tons of activities and attractions to keep everyone busy for the summer or any other time of the year. While you may be familiar with places like Six Flags, The Stockyards, or the JFK Memorial Plaza, there are a lot of other smaller places that many people overlook or don’t know about. Thus, Day Trip DFW was conceived. Each Day Trip DFW article will feature a different place (or places) that are in the DFW area, or within easy driving distance. First up is a place that isn’t even a 10-minute drive for me, and we visit it multiple times during the summer: Ham Orchard. Ham Orchard is a 100-acre peach farm started ...
Product Review – Super Bright LED Rim Lights
A few weeks back, I was sent a pack of Super Bright LED Rim Lights to try out and review. The pack includes 3 pairs of lights, batteries, and tire valve attachment thing. Each pair of lights is a different color. There are two green, two blue, and two multi-colors. They are good for cars and motorcycles. They are also good for helping bicycles be more visible at dusk/night. The lights arrived in a small ziplock pouch with a small insert. The insert didn’t really have instructions about the lights, just a pic of where the batteries. The batteries are already inserted into the lights, but you have to take it apart to remove the paper block so that they work. I had a hard time getting a few of them unscrewed and almost had to use pliers. I also noticed that they are plastic, though they look metal at first glance. I don’t know how well they would stand up to continuous use. One of the green lights didn’t work at all & the other had a crack in it, but the others all worked ...
Product Review – Skinvolve Starter Kit
A few weeks back, Skinvolve sent me their Skinvolve Starter Kit to try out and review. The kit includes the Body Boost Gel (8 oz.) & the Body Karate Cream (8 oz.). The Body Boost Gel contains ginseng and green tea, & gives you tighter, smoother skin, free of lumps and bumps. The Body Karate Cream contains caffeine and argan oil, moisturizing & improving skin texture and tone. I started out using both on my legs, just to make sure that they wouldn’t aggravate my skin. The gel is used in the morning & evening. It has a light green color and smells wonderful. I noticed right away that my skin felt a lot firmer. I’ve been using it on my legs & arms. A little bit goes a long way, so you don’t have to use much to cover a large area. The cream is used after taking a bath or shower. It’s thick & white, and also has a very nice smell. Like the gel, you don’t need a lot. I used way too much the first time and it felt like I spent forever trying to get it all rubbed ...
Product Review – AYL StarLight 330 LED Lantern
Two weeks ago, I was sent an AYL StarLight 330 LED Lantern to test out and review. The lantern run on 3 D size batteries and used LED lights, generating 300 lumens. It can be used continuously for up to 6 days and the lights are guaranteed for up to 100,000 hours of use. It’s also water resistant & can be hung up. I haven’t had a good lantern in a long time & was very eager to try this out. Living in Texas, we get a lot of severe storms and constantly loose power. I wanted something to add to our emergency kit that would be useful, give off a good amount of light, and last a long time. The lantern itself is very sturdy. The globe is removable so that you can get a brighter light. It has a carry handle on the top, and a fold out hook at the bottom that you can hang it will. The batteries go in at the bottom, and it’s easy to get them in & out. The light switch is a push button and has three settings: normal, bright, and flash. It’s already come in handy a few times ...
