A few weeks back, I was sent a Brieftons Manual Food Chopper to try out and review. The chopper holds up to 3 cups and is operated by a pull handle. It also comes with several eBooks full of recipes as well. I did not think much of this chopper when I first took it out of the box and looked at it. The blades did not look like they would cut anything, and I honestly expected them to break on the first use. I decided to try it out with some onions. I cut the slices into smaller sections so that they wouldn’t get stuck or wedged. After securing the lid, I gave the handle a few pulls. To say I was shocked by how well it did is an understatement. The blades went through them as though they were butter…I couldn’t believe it. With only a few pulls, the onions were chopped to the size I normally cut them to. It saved time and I didn’t have to worry about my eyes watering. With a few more pulls, I had them minced to the consistency I use for fried rice. Again, it only took me a few ...

TV Review – The Flash Season One
A few weeks ago, I was sent a copy of The Flash: The Complete First Season on Blu-ray to watch & review. When Barry Allen was a child, his mother was murdered. The assailant was a man in yellow moving at superhuman speed, but no one believed him & the murder was pinned on his father. Years later, Barry is now grown up & working as a CSI tech. One night, he is struck by lightning from the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator explosion and ends up in a coma for 9 months. When he awakens, she discovers that he also now has super speed, which he uses to stop others who developed powers from the explosions & solve the mystery of his mother’s murder. I fell in love with this series from the moment I watched an advanced viewing of the first episode last year, and didn’t miss a single episode. The plot, story arcs, cast, and special effects are all superb. There are a lot of funny moments, with a good chunk of them from Cisco (played by Carlos Valdes) trying to come up with ...
Product Review – Stainless Steel Compost Bin
A few weeks back, I was sent a Stainless Steel Compost Bin by Estilio to try out and review. The bin holds up to a gallon of waste & comes with carbon filters that fit inside the lid. The inside wall are smooth so that foods & liquids do not stick, and no chemicals will leach into the compost. I’ve seen a lot of these popping up online & in stores lately. I have attempted to do outdoor compost bins & piles in the past without much success, so I was interested in seeing if an indoor bin on the countertop would work better for me. I was happy to find that it did. The carbon filters are already inserted in the lid when you take it out of the box, and I quickly discovered how well they work. Over the course of several days, I managed to fill the bin up over halfway with stuff. Now, I don’t have a lot of counter space, so I was keeping it on the small bit of useless counter directly behind my sink…that way it was out of the way until I needed up. And like most of the ...
Product Review – Rodent Zapper Electronic Rat Trap
A few weeks ago, I was sent a Rodent Zapper Electronic Rat Trap from PestNoMore to try out and review. It’s an alternative to using snap traps, sticky traps, and poison. It’s also humane and takes only a second to clean & re-set. We get mice in from time to time, especially during this time of the year. With our house being old, there always seems to be a new place that they get in at. We have tried literally everything over the years to combat them with little to no success. The majority of the time, they seal the bait from the snap traps. They also get off the glue boards (leading to instances like this one), or when have to kill them before bagging them up for the trash. Strong poison is out of the question due to our dogs, and the pet safe stuff ends up being a buffet. I honestly didn’t think that this would work and that is would be a very expensive dud. The trap itself is very easy to set up. It’s in two pieces, a top & bottom, & it has an AC adapter as well as ...
Product Review – DragonBall Z Goku’s Gym T-Shirt
A few weeks ago, I was sent a DragonBall Z Goku’s Gym T-Shirt by SW Fashion to try out and review. The shirt is 100% preshrunk cotton and is available in blue, red, and white. The yellow logo featuring a silhouette of Goku powering up is featuring in the middle of the shirt. I’ve been a huge fan of DragonBall Z since I was a kid, and have been watching the new series online. I thought that this would definitely be nice to have to wear around the house or out to the gym (whenever I join one). I got an XL so it’s a little big on me, but not too much. I’ve mostly been wearing it in the evening. The fabric itself is a little stiff, but it’s gotten better after washing it a few times. It doesn’t appear to have shrunk up much, if at all, in the wash…which is nice. It’s not super thick, but it is heavy cotton so I haven’t really worn it outside too much due to the continuing heat wave we’ve been having. Overall, it’s a very nice shirt & perfect for DBZ fans. It’s available on Amazon ...
TV Review – Supernatural: The Complete Tenth Season
Last week, I was sent a DVD copy of Supernatural: The Complete Tenth Season. Season 10 was a bit of a rollercoaster ride for the boys. Six weeks after the season 9 finale, Sam has to hunt down the now demonic Dean in order to perform a ritual to save him. After the ritual is completed, Dean has his humanity back but he still carries the Mark of Cain, which is slowly try to turn him evil. Meanwhile, Castiel is dying & goes out searching for a cure with Hannah. I enjoy watching Supernatural, but usually end up missing a lot of the episodes. I really enjoyed getting the full set so I could get caught up, and thought that this was the best season yet. There is a lot of action & I really liked watching Dean fighting/struggling with the Mark of Cain. Crowley, everyone’s favorite daemon, has been promoted to series regular, so you get to see a lot more of him…which is always a treat in and of itself. I think my favorite episode from this season was ‘Fan Fiction’, where the boys ...
