Brains! The CDC posted a survival guide on how to survive the impending zombie apocalypse. Yes, you read that right. The Center for Disease Control is concerned about zombies. The reason: it's apparently they only way they can get people interested in being prepared for a disaster. The tongue-in-cheek article was written by Ali S. Khan, the Assistant Surgeon General. It's filled with links to real/ legitimate disaster preparedness pages, and the tag line is "If you're your ready for a Zombie Apocalypse, then your ready for any emergency'. Here is a snippet:"If zombies did start roaming the streets, CDC would conduct an investigation much like any other disease outbreak. CDC would provide technical assistance to cities, states, or international partners dealing with a zombie infestation. This assistance might include consultation, lab testing and analysis, patient management and care, tracking of contacts, and infection control (including isolation and quarantine)."The article ...

‘America’s Most Wanted’ Canceled…Say What?!?!
After being on the air for 23 years and catching 1151 criminals to date, FOX has canceled the show becasue they "have not made money on the show for a while". The show will be replaced with reruns, and FOX said that they would do four two-hour specials next season. This leads me to ask one very important question: What are they thinking? There are some instances when making money shouldn't matter, and this is one of them. John Walsh has done a great service to everyone by dedicating his life to catching criminals and making the steets safer. There are so few shows on that make a difference in society. Canceling it is just crazy. It's a win for the bad guys. Shame on you FOX.'America's Most Wanted' needs to stay on the air. A Facebook page has been set up, and I encourage everyone to check it out. You can also send an email directly to FOX: askfox@fox.com ...

Cell Phones are Killing the Bees
"Oh, hey. Y'all best be careful or I'm gonna sting you with my stinger." A recently released study claims that they may have found the answer to what is killing off bees: cell phones. Wait...bees are dying? Why haven't we heard about this. Oh wait, we have. All jokes aside, I find it hard to beleive that it's just cell phones on it's own. Besides, the actual test leaves much to be desired. For the study, a scientis placed a cell phone directly under a bee hive. "According to a story in The Daily Mail, the bees were able to tell when the handsets were making and receiving calls. They responded by making the high pitched squeaks that usually signal the start of swarming". Um...all I can say is 'duh'. There is something making a racket under their hive, so it's only natural that they would perceive it as a threat and swarm. You get the same reaction if you poke the hive with a stick. In fact, you can elicit a similar reaction out of a person if you place a cell phone under their ...
Transformer explosions in Fort Worth
During the storms that rolled through last night, a lightning strike caused power transformers to go up in a chain reaction. The even was cought on film by Brian Luenser, who was standing on his balcony taking pictures. The light show lasted about 30 minutes, and, surprisingly, only 5,000 people lost power. ...
