I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving yesterday. We went to my parents house and watched the Raven's game after eating a wonderful turkey dinner. My husband had to work unfortunately. He's an assistant manager for Walmart, and this is what he had to look forward to after getting home at 11 am from working all night, then having to be back into work at 5 pm: Thankfully, this wasn't at his store, and he didn't really have any issues with customers going totally bat poopie. I heard that there was a big fight at our local store though. People were fighting up by the registers for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I am personally glad that I don't work retail anymore. I worked the Walmart Black Friday sale for three years, and each one I got trampled for stuff that totally wasn't worth the effort it took to knock down employes trying to do their job. My favorite was the last year I worked for them. I was over in electronics, which might as well be the Pits of Hell ...
family life
…blah, blah…
It's been relatively hectic since FenCon. Plus, the weather has decided to go crazy. It's been raining almost non-stop for the last few days. We got caught out in a big downpour yesterday while trying to get to the grocery store. My mom had come over to go with us & I still say she brought the rain with her. It was clear until I pulled the 4Runner out, then it started pouring. Of course, the sunroof started leaking within a few minutes so I had to go back out and pull it back under the carport. I was competently soaked and had to change my clothes. Mom's was just as bad & had to spend part of the afternoon wet. We got soaked again trying to get into the store. Luckily, my daughter used me as a shield so she stayed relatively dry. by then, the rain was coming down so hard that we had to wait close to two hours before we attempted to venture home. The best part was the rain boots my daughter picked up. She fell in love with them & refused to take them off the ...
Super frustrated!
I am super frustrated! Everything that could possibly go wrong or cause problems has been happening this week...which has put me behind even more.Earlier this week, we noticed that on of the tires on my 4Runner was looking low while we were out visiting my husband's grandfather. He filled it up for us so that we would be able to get home, and planned on taking it up to Walmart the following day to get it checked. The next day (Sunday), my husband ran it up there. After waiting over 2 hours, they said that they couldn't find a leak...even though it had lost 10 pounds of air overnight. That night, we went back out to his grandfathers and it stated going flat in his driveway. He checked it by pouring soapy water over the tire and found the leak in under a second. It wasn't just a slow leak, it was a big one. We filled it up, again, but knew we would have to wait until my husband's next day off to do anything about it. The following morning, the tire was completely flat. So, I ...
Back from Vacation!
I had a wonderful week in Rockport! I finally got a chance to relax and get some fishing in, plus Hannah and I got to spend some time with my parents. I wish my husband had been able to go, but he wasn't able to get off of work. In face, he worked a crazy scheduled with no days off. I hope that he will be off at some point this week. By the time he gets home at night, Hannah is already in bed so she doesn't get to see him.I took my laptop with me in hopes that I would be able to get some product reviews done. I got a few partially written, but the internet connection was so bad that I could barely update anything. I was surprised that I was able to get the iPad post up. I got so frustrated with it that I gave up trying to get anything done and mostly left the laptop alone. I really needed to go through more video from the Beckham ghost investigation, but my sinuses are still so bad that my ears are clogged up...going on three weeks now. I couldn't hear a thing even with ...
Woefully Behind Again
I have a few more product reviews to get written up, and then I think that I will be caught up for the time being. I'm going to try to get them done tomorrow. There is no severe storms to knock out the electricity and it's been too hot to do much outside. Anyway, serves me right for taking on so many. I think I had at least ten going at once.Aside from stuff on here, I've got several book covers lined up. I'm also in the process of registering for Operation Photo Rescue. Basically I wold be volunteering my free time to digitally restore photographs damaged in natural disasters. It's a neat project and I'm happy to donate my time and skills to help out people. ...
blah & bleh….
It's been a very long week. My cat Dudley had to be put to sleep on the 8th. My mom had been concerned that he hadn't been eating for a while, then he started loosing weight rapidly. My parents took him up to the vet to get him looked at. He's usually attacking people left and right when he gets there, but he was unusually docile...so we know that he was really sick. After finding a large lump in his side, they drew blood and ran some tests. They found that he had cancer and that there wasn't anything that could be done. He was only 11 years old and was the best companion anyone could have wanted. We had him cremated, with part of his ashes being at my parents and the other being at our house.I manged to get a few posts up before having to deal with the washing machine. The outflow pipe was leaking again and we didn't realize how much until we pulled everything out and found a very icky mess. We are still working on trying to fix it temporarily...so I'm stuck doing very small ...
