Tuesday night, I was working on typing up several blog posts while Jason was watching TV and Hannah was sleeping. I had been going in and out of the living room trying to watch the repeat of the new Sons of Anarchy episode and was back in the office when I heard an explosion. It wasn't close, but it was close enough to rattle the windows. Immediately following the sound, all the electricity when off. And I mean all the electricity...as in the whole town.I stumbled through the house and lit a few candles, then grabbed a flashlight and headed outside. Several of out other neighbors were out and were all pretty confused as to what had happened. We cold hear police cars and firetrucks going, and several of them when past, but no one would say what was going on. There wasn't even anything on the police band. We joked about the possibility of the cause being the decommissioned satellite that was scheduled to fall out of orbit. But eventually we all gave up and went back inside. The ...
family life
very long day
Actually, the title should read "very long few days"...but I don't have the energy to go into a lot of detail at the moment. Anyway.......I've spent the last day and a half not being able to do any dished because my sink finally decided to rust out. I had water running all over the floor and the cabinet every time I tries to run the water. Yesterday, I ordered a new sink and faucet off of the Lowes website and picked it up at the store this morning. I had been hoping that it would be an easy out-and-in job, but it wasn't. My dad ended up having to make multiple trips out to get stuff since we had to widen the hole in the counter top. We finished up a little after 4. The new stuff looks great! I'll post up some pictures tomorrow. Now...if only I could replace everything else in the kitchen.I've also been working on Hannah's room a bit. I had been hoping to get a little more painting done this evening, but now it looks like we are going to get a downpour of rain, which we ...
Updates…and stuff
The Prefense Giveaway has ended, and I will be picking the winner later today. This is the first time I'm using the Rafflecopter picker thing...so hopefully I won't have any problems. There is a week to go on the custom flyer giveaway. I has only one entry, so your chances of winning are very high.I ended up having to call Animal Control on the dogs due to the fact that they started destroying everything on the porch once it got dark. Unfortunately, it was late at night so no one came out. The momma dog abandoned the puppies on the porch early yesterday morning and they hung around for part of the day. I tried again to get Animal Control out, but to no avail. The puppies wondered off late in the afternoon and haven't been back since. So I'll have to see if they come back. And to top everything off...one of the transformers blew and we didn't have power for about an hour and a half this morning. Thankfully it was cool out so it wasn't too bad. ...
Anyone missing some dogs?
A little while ago, I went out to check the mail and discovered a trio of dogs resting under my 4Runner. It's a momma and two puppies. The momma dog is a beige color and medium size. The two puppies are small with black fur. One is very fuzzy and the other isn't. I took them out some food and now they've taken up refuge on the porch. If anyone happens to recognize them or want's them, send me an email or leave a comment. I don't want to call Animal Control since all they will do is put them to sleep. ...
Wordless Wednesday
This was taken earlier in the summer when it was still cool enough for Hannah to get into her pool. She's definitely a 'daddy's girl'. ...
…so tired
We've had a very busy few days, and now I'm completly behind on everything again. Jason took me out Saturday afternoon for lunch to my favorite sushi restaurant, while Hannah spent the day at with my mom. We were going to try to go the the Plano World Market, but 635 was so backed up we didn't even bother. We ended up going to Half-Price books, then wondered around Babies-R-Us for a little bit. Then we swung through the Seagoville WalMart because Jason had to do something in the computer.I then spend Sunday and yesterday trying to get caught up on laundry. I went grocery shopping yesterday, which took forever. I spent 30 minutes at the customer service counter to return two shirts for my mom. Shopping took about 20 minutes. Then I spent another 30 minutes waiting in line to checkout. The cashier was moving at a snails pace and had a comment about every single item she scanned. When I get groceries, I make sure to plan out for at least a week and a half....so you can imagine ...
