Last week, I was sent a Camping Cookware Set from Stolevar to test out and review. The set consists of an anodized nonstick pot (with lid) & pan, 2 bowls, folding spoon & fork, soup spoon, bamboo spatula, and a sponge. It’s designed to be lightweight, making it perfect for backpacking or any camping trip. It comes in a nylon drawstring bag. I’ve had many similar sets over the years, and for the most part they were ok. Typical issues I’ve learned to look for are not heating evenly, hot spots, and sticking. So I decided to put these pans to the test using a travel alcohol burner that you would normally use for backpacking or at parks that you can’t have a fires or propane stoves. For testing the pot, I boiled water in it. It heated up quickly and the bubbles were evenly dispersed around the pan, showing that there weren’t any hot spots. The rolling boil was smooth as well. For the pan, I cooked an egg sunny side up. I did use butter in the pan, which started ...

Product Review – Pet Nail Grinder
A few days ago, I was sent a Pet Nail Grinder from Lifepul. The grinder is battery operated (2 AA not included) and has a metal diamond-bit grinder. It can be used on both dogs and cats, and is designed to not make a lot of noise. My mom’s puppy Tank, a boxer, has nails that grow super-fast & he had no idea as of yet how much they hurt when he paws at us. He’s pretty active so it’s difficult to get him to stay still for long. On advice from the vet, we were trying to use a regular nail file on his nails to get him used to the idea of getting them trimmed. That worked to a point, and we more often than not ended up with partly nibbled emery boards. I had a nail grinder several years ago when they first came out on infomercials. That particular model was huge (looked like a lightsaber handle) and sounded like a buzzsaw at its quietist. Needless to say, the dogs didn’t like it. This nail grinder is different tough. It’s very compact and easily fits in your hand. It has ...
Product Review – In-Ear Headphone Stereo Earbuds
Last week, I was asked to try out and review a pair of In-Ear Headphone Stereo Earbuds Noodle Earphones from Karnotech. They plug in through a headphone jack and work with both smartphones and MP3 players. It also has a call button & volume control, and comes with extra headset caps in assorted sizes. I haven’t had any earphones in a long time, so I was excited to try these out. The sound comes out great and I was very impressed with it. They also sat comfortably in my ears, which was nice too being that almost every pair I’ve hand in the past tended to become painful after a while. The cord is flat and I noticed that it doesn’t seem to get tangled a whole lot. I put them to the test by using them at the gym with my MP3 player. They worked perfectly. They stayed in and didn’t fall out. They also held up to all the wear and tear as well. Overall, I think these are very nice. They have great sound and so far I haven’t had any issues with them. They are available on ...
Product Review – BEASON iPhone 6/6s Running Armband
Last week, I was asked to try out and review the Beason iPhone 6/6s Running Armband. The band is water resistant, sweat proof, and is adjustable. It has a built in key pocket and a card pocket that will fit a driver’s license, credit card, and/or cash. The phone pocket has a clear front that allows you to use the screen on your phone, and fits any screen up to 4.7 inches (iPhone 5,5s,5c,SE, Galaxy S3/S4). I’ve been looking for things to hold my phone/keys/cards at the gym, so I was interested in trying this out. I had one similar to this in the past, but I don’t have it any more. This is one is pretty much the same, but is a little lighter. My Galaxy S4 fit in it with no problem, and I put a few cards and some cash in it too. The band itself fits very well, however I had an issue with it staying up on my arm. It kept sliding down every time I moved my arm once my phone was in it. Even with it cinched down as tight as I could stand it, it kept moving around and sliding ...
Product Review – Urban Active Sports Running Belt
Last week, I received a Running Belt from Urban Active Sports for try out and review. It has multiple pockets for your keys, money, ID, and credit cards. It also has a pocket with a clear front that allows you to use your cell phone. It also comes with two free gifts: Urban Runner's Survival Guide Ebook and a set of elastic laces. My mom recently signed over her gym membership over to me and I hadn’t been yet at the time I received the running belt. I really needed something I could put my phone and stuff in that wasn’t super bulky and wouldn’t get in the way while I was using the machines. This belt totally fits the bill. I was able to put my phone in the very front pocket, and toss in my ID, some cash, and a debit card with plenty of room left over. I didn’t have anything to put in the small side pockets. The key pocket is more for sliding in a house key, so my car keys didn’t fit…but that was ok since the gym has key hooks. The belt fit easily around my waist and I ...
Product Review – Watermelon Slicer
A few days ago, I was sent a watermelon slicer from ADSX to try out a review. It’s made of stainless steel and has a comfortable rubber grip. It can be used an any melons. I have seen these all over the place and never gave them much though. If fact, it looks like some sort of Klingon weapon off of Star Trek. What I want to know is, where has this been all my life!?!?! I freaking love this thing! The slicer is so easy to use, a child can do it. Just turn it so that the jagged side is facing the ceiling and the bar cutting is down, and then run it through the watermelon. In less than a minute I had half of a watermelon sliced up and in a container. I was able to put a whole watermelon in one of my storage tubs and put it in the refrigerator. If you want to see it in action, check out the video below: Overall, this is a great product & everyone should have one. It’s simple to use. It’s available on Amazon for $9.56 (+shipping). I received this product for ...
