For the past few weeks, I've been testing out the Rejuvenate Microfiber Sweeper Pad from Rejuvenate. These reusable microfiber pads can be washed over 100 times, making them a far more affordable option than disposable pads. They can be used for wet or dry cleaning, are safe for wood and finished floors, and comes in a 2, 3, or 5 pack pack. The pads are designed for use with Swiffer Sweeper mops and other similar mops. I was very excited to try these out. We moved into a new, much larger house a year ago and it has all vinyl or wood flooring. The only the bedrooms have carpet, so it's been trial and error as far as finding the right cleaning products. I opted for using a Swiffer for spot cleaning, but all the pads seem to do is leave a smear behind on the vinyl flooring. And forget about the wood floors. I tried once with the ones just for wood, and it did was make them finish look super cloudy. I have two different Swiffers, the mop and the wet jet. The pads work very well with ...

Product Review – Leather Nova
Last week, I was sent several Leather Nova products to test out and review. Leather Nova products are made with natural and non-toxic ingredients, making them environmentally friendly. I products I received were the Leather Cleaner, Leather Conditioner, and Leather Conditioner & Cleaner. Each cleaning product also comes with its own applicator/towel. I have a leather couch, loveseat, and chair set in my living room. My husband bought them when he first bought the house shortly before we started dating, so they are around 10 years old. The couch has the most wear from sitting on it all the time (and one of the dogs licked some of the color off in a few spots), but all in all still looks mostly new. We’ve never used any type of cleaner on it, so I was curious to see what it would do. I started out with the Leather Cleaner on right armrest (one closest to the door). It’s in a spray bottle & comes with a microfiber towel. It use, spray the cleaner directly on the towel and ...
Product Review – 20 Mule Team Borax
A while back, I was sent a box of 20 Mule Team Borax from Purex Insiders. Borax has been around for a long time, and is a 100% natural mineral used for cleaning. It softens hard water, boosts your regular detergent, & can be used for a number of cleaning uses around the house. You can also use it in a number of crafts as well. My grandmother used Borax and swore by it. I had never used it before aside from a few school projects, so I was eager to try it out. The box arrived while I was on vacation & was waiting for me when I got home. I immediately used it in my husband’s laundry. His socks can walk themselves home at the end of the day, and they never really get clean. So, I added ½ cup of Borax in with the load. Not only did they come out completely clean, they also didn’t smell anymore. After that, I started adding it to everything. It’s really great for the towels since it gets the mildew smell out of them. I’ve also noticed that the washing machine is also a ...
Product Review – Glade Expressions
For the past few weeks, I’ve been testing out the new line of Glade products called Glade Expressions. The line consists of a room diffuser and a spray. Both come in a variety of scents and are reasonably priced. I picked up both items in the pineapple & mangosteen scent. The room spray was ready to use and puts out a good sized mist. I didn’t have to spray much at all to get the room smelling great. The trigger is easy to squeeze and the refill is very easy to remove and replace. The diffuser only takes about two minutes to snap together. The decretive bamboo panels blend in with just about any décor. You don’t even realize that it’s a diffuser until you really look at it. It took about 3 hours or so for the scent chip to get fully wet. After that, you could notice the pineapple/mangosteen in the air, but it was very subtle. It took about a day to fully circulate the room and give it a very pleasant scent. It has lasted me just a little over a month, due to the fact ...
Natural House Review & Giveaway [ENDED]
A few weeks ago, I was sent a 30 day supply of Natural House Cleaning Products. The products were Trashy, Flushy, and Sinky. Trashy is a spray that eliminates odor from your trash can. Flushy is a toilet cleaner, while Sinky cleans your sink drain and garbage disposal (if you have one). Natural House products utilize non-toxic, probiotic cleaning agents that are strong enough for commercial clean-up, yet safe and gentle for all of the members of your home. The item I was most eager to try was Trashy. My trash can in the kitchen reeks almost all the time, primarily due to the large amount of used diapers in it. With Trashy, all I had to do was spray the inside of the trash can before putting the bag in. The residual smell was gone almost instantly. In fact, there were a few times that I even sprayed the trash itself and the results were the same. The odor was eliminated and didn’t come back for several days. I found that Flushy also works just as well. Our bathroom toilet ...
Product Review – The Peaceful Housewife Natural Cleaning Products e-book
The Peaceful Housewife Natural Cleaning Products e-book is a small guide on how to make homemade cleaning products that are safe for the environment. Most of the ingredients are ones you already have around your house, or can easily be picked up at a store. Many of the recipes are quite simple and are actually pretty useful. I like the wet jet refill in particular mostly because it never occurred to me that I could refill it. There is also a recipe for fabric softener and one for laundry detergent. There a few items on some of the ingredients list that I'm not to sure where you could easily find at the grocery store, like citric acid, but most everything else I think you would be able to get. The e-book is pretty useful, especially if you need to make something quick or are trying to go green. The e-book come as a pdf document, and is $3 to download. If your interesting in checking out the e-book or any of her other products, you can visit the Peaceful Housewife website. I ...
