Create A LEGO Minifigure Family!

December 12, 2013

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of LEGO for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. When it comes to building toys, LEGO is king.  You can build just about anything with them, whether it’s a house, castle or a set based off a popular movie.  The possibilities are endless.  And now, you can create your family with their own Minifigure Family app on their website.  With it, you can add up to 13 members of your family to create a holiday card to send to all of your friends. I had a blast trying out.  There are a ton of hair, hat, & clothing options that you can choose from, plus you can also match skin tones as well.  You can also add in pets too.  I gave my husband spikey hair and dressed him as a ninja.  I’m wearing jeans with a studded belt, which looks a lot like the one I normally wear, and a blue jacket.  My daughter is wearing a white and purple hoodie.  In fact, I noticed one shirt that looked suspiciously like Matt Smith’s suspenders & bowtie ...

Watch Family Friendly Cartoons on Kidoodle.TV

December 10, 2013

I participated in a Blog Blast program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kidoodle.TV. I received a promotional item and a free trial as a thank you for participating. Broadcast and cable tv never seem to have anything age appropriate for my daughter & there are days it seems almost impossible to find something safe for her.  Now there is Kidoodle, an online streaming video site geared towords children 12 & under that has many of the shows I grew up watching like Inspector Gadget, Transformers & Jem.  She can easily navigate around to watch what she wants, and I can log into the "Parents Room" to monitor what she's watching.  Sign up at Kidoodle.TV today for a free trial, and enter by December 31, 2013 to win 1 of 10 tablets or 1 of 10 Kidoodle.TV year-long subscriptions!  You can also keep up with all the new shows they are adding by following their Facebook and Twitter accounts. ...

Relax with Caza Trail Donut Shop Blend Coffee

December 10, 2013

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting #MC for Sturm Foods, Inc. I received a promotional item and product samples as a thank you for participating. When the weather is cold, I like to sit back and relax with a warm cup of coffee…even if it just for a few minutes.  I’ve been drinking Caza Trail’s Donut Shop blend in single serve kcups.  It has a great taste that I love, especially in the mornings.  Since its single serve, my husband can quickly make a fresh cup and take it with him to work.  They have this and 24 other varieties that you can find on their Amazon page. ...

Help MAG Clear Landmines & Save Lives

December 5, 2013

Mines Advisory Group, or MAG, has worked since 1989 to remove landmines, unexploded bombs, and other remnants of wars in over 35 countries, including Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.  They provide risk education to those in strongly affected areas and work daily to clear deadly weapons.  Because mines and other ordinance is so wide spread, an entire generation has lived in fear of what will happen when they step outside.  Children are the most vulnerable, making up 30 to 40% of the victims.  They run the risk of coming across them while playing and even finding them in their own backyards. MAG works to ensure that entire communities and the surrounding countryside is safe.  They ensure that there are schools, health facilities, access to safe water, and safe land to develop.  They also hire many women & people with disabilities so that they are able to help support their families and have a steady source of income that normally would not be available.  From July 2012 to May 2013, ...

Who is Looking to Start a Business?

November 26, 2013

Owning your own business is great.  You get to make your own hours and you don’t have to worry about having a boss.  You would also have the freedom to run things how you see fit.  Supercuts, one of the top franchises to own, recently completed a survey to see who owns business. So, who exactly is looking to start a business?  A thousand people with a net worth of over $200,000 were surveyed.  Over half of them, 56%, are planning on opening or starting a business.  They are either alone or with a partner.  25% are women who are looking to start their own business.  31% of them are looking going into business with a spouse or domestic partner.  30% of respondents are going into business with a friend, while 26% are going into business with a colleague.  The survey also found that women are more likely to start a business with a spouse or domestic partner than men.  To get more perspective on it, here is a chart: Overall, it looks like all sorts of people open business.  As ...
