A few weeks ago, I was asked to try out and review the Latex Underbust Workout Steel Boned Corset Waist Trainer from DawnRaid. This waist trainer has three layers of laytex that helps boosts thermal activity to help burn fat while working out, and is said to be able to reduce your waist size 3 to 5 inches. It is available in several different colors and a wide range of sizes. I have wanted to try a waist trainer for some time and was excited to get this one. The first one I got was way to big. I didn't measure my waist, instead going by my old waist size not realizing how much weight I had lost since I started working. I sent it back and ordered a 4X, which fits a 37 to 40 inch waist. It was insanely difficult to fasten and I never was able to get connect all of the hooks. It was also very loose/baggy in several spots, and there was a gap of nearly two inches between the top of it & my skin just under my bust line. The trainer is a little stretchy, but not much making, it ...
TV Review – The Flash Season 3
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this blog post. The opinions I share are my own. The Flash Season 3 starts off finding our favorite speedster Barry Allen in an alternate universe where he has the life he always wanted and Wally is the Flash. However, his actions at the end of season 2 have consequences that affect everyone he loves which becomes apparent when he returns to his universe. Who is the God of Speed, Savatar, and how will Team Flash defeat him? The Flash is one of my favorite shows, and the third season cemented it. Early one, I figured that Savatar would either be Barry or Wally and I wasn’t disappointed with the reveal. We also get to see Catlin turn into Killer Frost. And she does fly around using her powers. I also enjoyed H.R. this season and was sad to see that he would not be back next season. Other highlights of the season were the epic Flash/Arrow/Legends crossover, the Gorilla City episodes, a hilarious ...
9/11 Film Gift Pack Giveaway [ENDED]
On the morning of September 11, 2001, I was at home. I had graduated high school four months previous, had the day off from work, and was planning on going out on a date with my boyfreind that night. I had been scanning tv channels and had stopped on a new cast just after the first plane had hit. At first I though it was some sort of special about the Unabomber. However, as I moved though news channels I realized it was live tv. It seemed by unreal at first...until the second plane hit. It was after that when people started jumping out of the towers. I spent the bulk of the day in front of the tv in disbelief and horror. I found out the next day a co-worker's father worked at the Pentagon and they had not heard from him yet. She was in a panic for a good part of the day, until she got the news that he was ok. He was in a hospital with severe burns he received from going back in a rescuing co-workers. He was later visited by President Bush at the hospital. While my 9/11 story is ...
Product Review – EarlySense LIVE
Last week, I was sent an EarlySense LIVE to try out and review. EarlySense LIVE is a device that goes under your mattress to track your sleep. It connects via Bluetooth to your phone and syncs to the LIVE app. The device tracks your heartbeat, breathing, stress levels, and more. I’ve suffered from insomnia for years and have to take prescription sleeping pills every night in order to sleep. The past few years I have been using a wrist tracker to see how long I sleep so that I can track how well my current dosage of pills is working. The trouble with the wrist tracker is that it does not go very in depth, it has be by charged every few days, and it can be very difficult to get it to connect to my phone at times. EarlySense fixes these issues. It stays plugged into a wall outlet, and has plenty of cord to reach any spot under your mattress. As mentioned earlier, it tracks a plethora of details and then uses all of that data to score your sleep. You can view any day to see how well ...
TV Review – Lucifer: The Complete Second Season
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this blog post. The opinions I share are my own. Lucifer returns for a second season of laughs as he and Detective Chloe Decker hit the streets of LE to solve murders and spend more time together (awkwardly!). Not only does Lucifer need to sort out his love life, he and his brother Amenadiel have to deal with ‘mommy dearest’ who escaped from Hell at the end of season one. Like all mothers, Charlotte likes to meddle. And also try to tear down the Pearly Gates as well to get back at her husband, God. This show is funny as Hell, pun totally intended. To watch the Devil constantly trip over himself and make a mess of things while trying to get the girl is hilarious. He takes two steps forward, and then twenty back. This season you also get to see more of the heavenly family dynamic, which easily explains why Lucifer is the way he is: they are all crazy and dysfunctional. He spends the majority ...
Movie Review – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 picks up a few months after the first left off. After a run-in the Sovereign race, which was mostly Rocket’s fault, Peter Quill meets his father who is Ego the Living Planet. Ego convinces him to come to his planet so that he can learn his destiny. However, Ego isn’t exactly as friendly as he seems, and Peter must decide what makes a father: being blood or being the man who raised him. Disney sent me a digital copy of the movie. I cannot sing the praises of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 enough. It was such a great movie and had so many moments. It’s hard to talk about without giving spoilers, so I’ll pick out my favorite stuff. Dave Batista totally stole every scene he was in with his deadpan delivery, and Kurt Russel always makes a great villain. My favorite part was the Marry Poppins one-liner from Michael Rooker. My co-workers have agreed that it was the best line of the movie. He also had a tear-jerker scene so keep some tissues handy. ...
