A few days ago, I was sent a giant box full of some awesome toys to try out. I received a set of Laser X Long Range Blasters, Spybot Room Guardian, and an All Pro Passer. Since there are several things to review, I’m going to break this up into sections.
Spybot Room Guardian
The Room Guardian is a medium sized robotic toy that hangs on a wall or door with an included hanger. It has a built-in motion sensor that sets of an alarm when motion is detected. There are also little fin-like things that pop out as well. In order to turn the alarm off, you have to enter the user-set code using the four red button on the front. The code is set when you first turn the toy on and can be changed by turning the Guardian off & then back on again.
It is fairly loud when it goes off & it even says “Intruder, Intruder!”. The hanger for this is a clear adhesive square with the hanging knob built in. It definitely doesn’t look like it will come off the wall/door after it is stuck in place. We used some Command strips on it to stick it to the wall so we didn’t have to worry about pulling any paint off of the paneling in my daughter’s room.
My daughter thinks it’s really neat, especially when the dogs set it off just so they can bark at it. It would be a cool thing to have if you have younger siblings to torment or scare out of your room. You can find the Spybot Room Guardian at Target.
Laser X Long Range Blasters
As the name implies, the Laser X Long Ranger Blasters are laser tag guns. The target is built into the gun, so you don’t have to strap on any targets. They also don’t have a visible laser so you don’t have to worry about getting it in someone’s eye. There are several settings on the guns. One controls the LED color across the top so that you can indicate a team if you are playing with multiple people. The other switch adjusts who is able to hit the target so I you don’t get hit with friendly fire. They have a lot of sounds to let you when you’ve been hit. After about 5 hits, your lives are depleted.
We actually had a lot of fun with these. Having the target on the gun itself makes it a lot harder to hit. They have a lot of sounds to let you when you’ve been hit. My daughter plans on taking them over to her friend’s house first chance she gets so they can play. We definitely want to get more of them. You can find these blasters at Target.
All Pro Passer
The All Pro Passer can launch a football over 25 yards & allows you to select from a few pre-set pass settings. The pass distance is determined by how much you pump up the pressure. It comes with a foam football designed specifically for the passer. It sits down onto the robotic arm, which then swivels into position once the pass type has been set or a general direction picked.
We haven’t gotten to play with this one as much since it’s been very windy lately. The ball is light enough that it gets blown around quite easily, even if you are doing a short pass. My daughter has had fun with it and wants to take it over to the park so we can really see how far the ball will go. The All Pro Passer is available at both Walmart and Target.
