Motherhood is such a beautiful experience. The moment you become a mother, you’re automatically thinking of ways to care for your baby. However, it’s really easy to care so much for the baby that you forget about yourself. Consider these four ways to stay stylish, beautiful and balanced as a new mother.
1. Self-Care Weekly Dates
Get your manicures and pedicures. Go to the spa and unwind with a massage. Sit down with a therapist so that you can check in and make sure you’re mentally managing and processing it all. Do this on a weekly basis. It’s so important to do because you have to put yourself first. If you don’t take care of yourself, you’ll be useless to everyone else.
2. Baby Care Rituals
If you love yoga, there are lots of baby yoga classes and online tutorials to consider. This can be a great way to take care of your physical and mental health. It also encourages your little one to get started in this practice as well. Granted, you might not be able to practice a physical routine until the baby is at least six months. However, get creative and find ways to be physically active together. The stroller is a popular option. You can place the baby in the stroller and while the baby sleeps, you can take a nice jog through the neighborhood. The exercise will do wonders for your mental clarity.
3. Fashion
The way a woman dresses can easily communicate how she feels. During the first few years of motherhood, you’re not going to get as much sleep. When you’re not well-rested, this can impact the way you feel about yourself. It can also impact the way you look. Go online and purchase a few staple classic pieces like comfortable jeans, cardigans and stylish t-shirts. Try to purchase a new fashionable piece of clothing every week. The more you do this, the more likely you are to wear the clothing. Make sure to purchase clothes for the size you are right now. Purchase a few shades of lipstick and get some under-eye concealer palates. These two beauty items will help you to wake your face up and put forth a polished appearance.
4. Mommy & Baby Dates
Don’t wait until the baby is in fifth grade to start hanging out and having fun with one another. Start the dates right now while they’re in the newborn phase. Get used to carry your baby around and going on various dates together. If your family is into sports, induct the baby into the sports routine. Purchase baby sports clothes for game days. When it’s time to dress up and go to games, the baby will be a part of the fun.
