Product Review – Pet Nail Grinder

July 7, 2016

A few days ago, I was sent a Pet Nail Grinder from Lifepul.  The grinder is battery operated (2 AA not included) and has a metal diamond-bit grinder.  It can be used on both dogs and cats, and is designed to not make a lot of noise.

Pet Nail GrinderMy mom’s puppy Tank, a boxer, has nails that grow super-fast & he had no idea as of yet how much they hurt when he paws at us.  He’s pretty active so it’s difficult to get him to stay still for long.  On advice from the vet, we were trying to use a regular nail file on his nails to get him used to the idea of getting them trimmed.  That worked to a point, and we more often than not ended up with partly nibbled emery boards.  I had a nail grinder several years ago when they first came out on infomercials.  That particular model was huge (looked like a lightsaber handle) and sounded like a buzzsaw at its quietist.  Needless to say, the dogs didn’t like it.

This nail grinder is different tough.  It’s very compact and easily fits in your hand.  It has two openings; the top for medium and large pets & the side for small pets.  It is also very quiet. It barely makes any noise at all.  We waited for Tank to settle down on the couch and got to work.  He was very comfortable with it and it didn’t bother him at all.  He sat fairly still (for him) and I was able to quickly trim his nails down.  I didn’t do a great job because I was hurrying in case he got testy, but he did so well that I know I won’t have any issues the next time I use it.

Overall, this is an excellent product.  It’s quiet, compact, and the grinder bit won’t wear out for a very long time.  It’s available on Amazon for $16.99 (+ shipping).

I received this item for free for a review. All opinions are 100% my own.
