TV Review – The Originals: The Complete Second Season

September 10, 2015

The Originals Season 2Last week, I received a Blu-ray copy of The Originals: The Complete Second Season. The series is a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries, and follows the Mikaelson family as they struggle to take back control of New Orleans. The second season follows after the events of the first. Werewolves now rule the French Quarter for the first time in centuries, and Klaus is plotting revenge and vows to do anything necessary to protect Hope, his newborn daughter…even if that means war.

I have never watched The Vampire Diaries or The Originals before, so I had a lot to catch up on. I hit up all the Wikis I could find in order to get all the background I could on the characters & the first season. There is a lot between both shows & I’m still a little lost on some stuff, but the series is very interesting.

The story lines are very interesting, and the show has a lot of dark & humorous moments. I really enjoy the interplay between the vampires, werewolves, and witches. The special effects are also very good considering that it’s a show on broadcast tv.

Overall, it’s a very interesting series and I play on totally getting caught up on it so that I can watch Season 3 when it premiers. The Second Season is out now on both Blu-ray and DVD, and both have several special features including a gag reel, unaired scenes, The Awakening Web Series.

I received the above mentioned item fro free to help facilitate my review.  All opinions are 100% my own.
