A few weeks ago, I was sent a Rodent Zapper Electronic Rat Trap from PestNoMore to try out and review. It’s an alternative to using snap traps, sticky traps, and poison. It’s also humane and takes only a second to clean & re-set.
We get mice in from time to time, especially during this time of the year. With our house being old, there always seems to be a new place that they get in at. We have tried literally everything over the years to combat them with little to no success. The majority of the time, they seal the bait from the snap traps. They also get off the glue boards (leading to instances like this one), or when have to kill them before bagging them up for the trash. Strong poison is out of the question due to our dogs, and the pet safe stuff ends up being a buffet.
I honestly didn’t think that this would work and that is would be a very expensive dud. The trap itself is very easy to set up. It’s in two pieces, a top & bottom, & it has an AC adapter as well as a kill indicator light. You can also use batteries too. The first few days I had it hooked up we got nothing. I had baited it with a gel attractant that apparently didn’t work. After three or four days, I moved to the other end of the room and baited it with a few pieces of dry dog food. I got a hit about six hours later.
It took only a few seconds to empty the mouse into a bag & then take it out to the trash. Over the course of the next several days, we continued to catch mice daily. I was absolutely floored at how well the trap works. My husband now wants to try it out in the shed.
Overall, I think it works great. As long as you find the right spot for it & good bait, you shouldn’t have any issues with it. It’s sold on Amazon, but is currently unavailable. It was on sale at the time for $69.95 and has free shipping (regularly $129.99).
I received the above mentioned product for free to help facilitate my review. All opinions are 100% my own.
